No sense driving the train off the track because some of the passengers are sick.
It is a time that calls for sensible decisions that can reduce casualties....both medical, and economic.
^^^ That's fine, you're welcome to disagree.
I'm all for responsible dog ownership. My beef was the smarmy and condescending tone toward dog owners by CPW in their message. It's unprofessional, but seems more and more like an attitude pervasive in the forest and park service employees.
The message in the original post is just plain rude, condescending, and annoying.
The message is:
.......You are a stupid person, I'm smarter than you so I will explain what a leash is for.
You and your dog are no longer part of the natural world, you shouldn't even be out here messing up all...
16-18' will be enough to get you to 600+ yards. Ammo choice is the key.
This 14.7" barrel reaches out to 500-600 pretty well with M855 (green tip), and the Primary Arms 5X prism sight with the ACSS reticle. It'll go further with 75gr BTHP.
ACSS 5.56 Reticle, calibrated out to 800 yards...
After we got our 12-man SO, we ended up selling our 12x14 wall tent. We never used the wall tent anymore. The tipi is just so much easier to handle, setup, take down, etc.
Now we use the cylinder stove in the 12-man tipi.
Not exactly what was asked, but here's a couple pics of myself sitting in the SO Silvertip, using a Helinox Ground Chair. Pole is set at 60", and I'm 6'3"
The low height of the Ground Chair helps gain some headroom in the smaller shelters.
From what I've gathered, the R/D longbow is kind of a hybrid of the recurve, and old style d-profile longbow.
Supposedly the design is known to be fairly quiet, since the string doesn't slap the limbs, and the limbs are less prone to lateral torque.
Nice looking bow, but I don't think that's a recurve. Looks like a reflex/deflex longbow shape on those limbs.
But hey, I'm certainly no expert. I just started shooting a bow a couple months ago, a 40# Toelke Whip. Mine is an r/d longbow too, so I kind of recognized the shape.
Have fun with it!
I've always just used some 550 cord. I'll cut about 14" or so and tie the ends together forming a loop. Then feed it through a stake loop securing it slip-knot fashion. This gives about 6" of extension.
The other end of the loop goes to the stake. I make at least one full dally around the...
No doubt it is a very isolated incident, but man, it left me bleeding from minor head wounds, and a general distrust in the product.
Bear sent me a prepaid label so I could send the bow back to their plant in FL for examination. I didn't hear anything back from them.
I tried that very same bow this spring. I really wanted to like it, I also draw close to 32". Unfortunately mine blew up the second day I had it.
I did get a quick refund from 3Rivers, great company to do business with. Rolled that money into a Toelke Whip. Loving this one.
