Velocity Test: Recurve vs Longbow, both 45#

That's a good point. I never really considered that, but the lower grip probably gives up a bit of DL.

The longbow grip is a bit lower.

Best packable Tipi/tent for 4 people

I'd look hard at the Seek Outside 8-man tipi. This will give plenty of room for four people, gear, stove/firewood, and some real standing room. I say this as someone who owns the SO 6-man, and 12-man tipis.

    Which seek tipi?

I went CF pole to save the weight, I think it saves 11 ounces.

    Which seek tipi?

This is a 6-man, with a 9 ft pipe atop the SXL stove. Probably more than needed, but no burn holes in the tipi.

Best Air Rifle for Prairie Dogs

If this is a break-barrel style, they can be accurate with the right hold technique. If you search 'artillery hold' on youtube, you will see some vids on the technique. Basically a loose hold to let the gun move on firing. I have a couple break-barrel air rifles too. They are hold-sensitive...

Best Air Rifle for Prairie Dogs

I've got an Air Venturi Avenger. Look into one. It's a budget friendly PCP. Actually I have two of them, 22 and 25. One inch at 50 yards all day long. Externally adjustable regulator and hammer spring let you tune to the power you want/need. I fill with a hand pump no problem. The 22 cal...

Big Stove for Tipi Car Camping

I believe it's the smallest size offered by Davis. We originally bought it with a 12x14 wall tent package. The cylinder diameter is 13", the depth is 23", the height is 21" to the flat top with the legs on it.

ILF top limb creaks/rattles when drawing

Also check the bolt in the limb pocket where the limb bolt engages, and the bolt that goes through the limb itself. I back my tiller bolts out until the bolt head rests flat against the limb. Then I'll check tiller, and make any minor adjustments needed. I shoot 3-under, and I have about...

    Bearpaw Blackfoot Longbow

I'm a lefty, so those left hits might be too much weight out front. When I filmed that vid I was not too practiced with the bow, we seem to be doing better now with more practice. I'll have to bare-shaft test it and see what's what.

    Bearpaw Blackfoot Longbow

You bet, this afternoon I had it out again, put about about 100 arrows through it. I was doing much better today after a little more familiarization with the bow. It's a nice bow.

    Hoyt Satori 21" Riser

Hey all, just an informal intro and some target practice with the 21" Satori riser, set up with 40# Samick R3 Long limbs. About 46# on my fingers at 32" draw length. I've had this riser for 10 months or so, but just got around to making a little vid with it. It's a nice shooter. Shane

Big Stove for Tipi Car Camping

I'm not sure about that. The 3" pipe in a 5" jack might let in some rain/snow. Not sure how the wind might affect it, or not.

Big Stove for Tipi Car Camping

I didn't have any trouble opening up the stove jack a tad to accomodate a 5" pipe. 12-man tipi, cylinder stove from Davis (sold the wall tent, kept the stove)

    Southwest Archery Spyder XL Recurve

Recently I bought one of these bows. I'm real impressed with the bow, especially considering the modest price. I also have a Toelke Whip, Hoyt Satori, and a few others as a base of reference. Here are a couple vids I put together recently. This is just a short clip at 20 yard practice...
