Remington 700. 30-06. Only shot it once. Grouped well for first loads. I have not worked up loads for it. I bought it from a surgeon friend that just didn't "feel" good about it though he knew it was in his head. Excuse to buy something nicer I think. It's super low round count (maybe under 50)...
Brad, I had the same experience. I got an Argali and it didn't make it through a half elk- I was butchering with a buddy. It was really great at first. But by the time I was 2/3 done I was cursing the thing. It wouldn't cut anything. My buddy did use it a little on the caping, and I'm assuming...
Are you guys ok with the weight of these binos? They seem to all be north of 32oz. IS that normal for better glass/RF tech?
I run Vortex UHD's and a leupold rangefinder. 3 days ago I couldn't get a shot on a 5x5 after my buddy dropped the 6x6 in a bull group because I couldn't find the bull...
There are some grays out there that seem to have a tinge of blue in them- but that are substantially gray.
Example: "Storm" color by Eddie Bauer
I know ungulates can see blue. Thus, is this color workable to hunt in. I'm assuming this is rifle hunting where solids are often more worn. For...
The higher fill "power" (650-900 fill) IS warmer RELTATIVE TO FILL WEIGHT. So a 900 fill power is warmer than a 700 fill power with the same fill weight. So if they both have 5oz of down (weight), the 900 power will be warmer. But if a 700 fill power has 7.5oz, and another has 5.6oz weight of...

I think that's really interesting that you have an up close round that I'm assuming is very close in point of aim to your other round, out to say 200 yards with a more strongly constructed bullet, and then you have another round on hand for longer shots. That's a really neat way to handle the...
So you shoot a ladder towards max with 2 rounds instead of one at each increment? So you are looking for grouping and not just chrono efficiency- that each increment is getting you 30-50fps?
I thought the ladder was just for burn efficiency, to see where you aren't getting an efficient...
Man, that seems high. you did so much to cut weight. It seems like it'd be a pound over the ultralite since you picked the heavier (better) stock. I was expecting around 6.9 or a little better. It's still a really nice rifle. There is such a thing as too lite.
