I ran the alpine for years. I sold it for a tent because I woke up with a camel spider inside of it one morning. With that being said. The situation you described would be perfect. Just a thought... if you dont plan to camp on the ridge the whole hunt, throw in a SOL bivy and keep the tarp for...
Good point. Where I planned to test it I'll be by a lake. That probably clouded my view of how I was going to get water into the bag. If its shallow I would imagine I'd need a water bottle or something shallow.
I've always used pumps, and tabs. I didn't want to spend a boatload before trying one out.
Msr bag
Msr bladder kit
Rapidpure filter.
My question is for those of you that have a gravity filter, what issues do you see? I'm going to add a 3in section below the shut off with a quick attachment...
Bag preformed better than expected. I didn't use an insulated pad only my klymit X. Temp hit 24 degrees. I was starting to get chilly as the sun came up at that temperature. Super comfortable bag. The shoulder sleeve kept the bag tucked in without issue.
Fully functional tripod, however, it is well used. Does show signs of wear. Comes with original plate. Great budget tripod that served me well. Best offer.
I've ran zamberlan for the last 12 years. My feet prefer the 980s the most. They don't have insulation but for October hunting my feet stayed warm while moving. I also have a pair of the cougars and my feet get cold in the summer in those. Can't speak for the other brand mentioned.
