Opinions on Alps Outdoorz Commander X Backpack!

My buddy just bought this pack and we used it this weekend. He loved it and it seemed like a durable pack. We will see how it holds up. Great value for the $$$ IMO.

    Idaho 65/65 muzzy deer

I drew this tag and live close to the unit. I would love to know if anyone has any first hand experience on this hunt. I plan on hitting it hard. Can trade OTC elk info on a few different units.

    Colorado muzzy

I have 5 NR points and would like to go on a fun hunt. A realistic chance at a 170+ buck. I would gladly trade OTC elk info in Idaho. Thanks

    Strange Observation in Idaho

I think its comical that anyone would think that neighboring states would give a shit about what another state thinks of their big game management. I moved to Idaho for a reason from Utah, for the hunting. I also did not see more than one person during my OTC elk hunt, and had an amazing hunt.

    Cabela's Instinct Fast Tracker 63L

Anyone else run this pack? I have used it this fall a ton and love it. Lightweight and durable. Have not packed much more than about 30lbs on it yet but so far I am impressed.

    Cabelas Western Guide Boot

I had a pair of Lowa Tibet GTX's that failed on me after 15 months and started leaking like a sinking boat. Lowa would not do anything for me and told me the boots had outlived their "useful life". Which was comical as the boots had a ton of obvious life left in them. I picked up a pair of the...

    Lowa Tibet GTX

And they probably have TONS of life left! Send them to Lowa and they will tell you to pound sand.

    Lowa Tibet GTX

I will type slower so you can understand... I have had two sets of Meindl's that I have treated the same as my Lowa's with ZERO problems and literally wore a HOLE in the sole before they leaked. Also GORE-TEX says to never treat their product with any sort of waterproofer.. How to Clean Hiking...

    Lowa Tibet GTX

I would assume the boot, since they are in great condition.. Considering I have bought Meindl's twice and wore the shit out of them with never a problem.. Also a one year warranty on a $400 pair of boots is not ideal. I also bird hunt 100+ days a year in addition to elk and deer hunting and was...

    Lowa Tibet GTX

Mine started leaking after 18 months. Not impressed for a $400 pair of boots. Went with Meindl Western Guide boots and the lifetime warranty.

    Bugling updates?

Heard bugling every morning and night. Not too excited, just more instinctive responses.

    Great first weekend

I was camped at 9500 feet. Had bulls at 9000 feet and some around 7000-9000.

    Great first weekend

Had a great first weekend, and it was fun to be back in the hills! Passed two small 5x5's and saw 3 mature bulls. One pushing cows and the others hanging together. Bugling fairly well but not really into it. Will be back in a few weeks!

I thought I could find deer

I thought I could find deer

Until I moved to Idaho.... :) Now all I find is elk. I have located a few 300+ bulls and found one this morning pushing 330. But deer are freaking impossible to find in Eastern Idaho!! I have spent an insane amount of time glassing and scouting and have not seen a deer that would push 170. I...

I have spent a lot of time up there this summer, and will be archery hunting it. I could probably help out.
