Following, I was out there last summer UTVing in the hills and marked a few areas that had higher concentrations of deer seen. The area we were in seemed to hold more deer around private land holdings that had some types of agriculture growing from my observations.
I didn’t want to start another thread but those with a Tikka T3X in 6.5 PRC how much wiggle room is there side to side in the mag? I’m looking at using the PRC mags. in my 6.8 Western build. The length is perfect. Sorry to the OP for jumping in here.
Check zero and only clean/wipe the outside of the firearm if I hunt in the rain or snow. The bore stays dirty till seasons end or I run out of tags.
Same with my black powder. I’ll snap off a few primers before even loading the first time using it to fowl the bore.
I’m in the process of building a 6.8 Western and went with a 300 WM Tikka for my host Rifle. I didn’t want to be limited in what I can do with the round and be able to use the factory mags. The balance point on most rifles is around the magwell area and like you I didn’t want the mag hanging out.
I’ve looked hard at them, but I’ve herd from some of the questionable Tikka inletting in the bottom metal area and the wrist area of the stock is quite large. I have smaller hands.
