Tikka does make some really cool stuff that just won't get imported for some reason. Some really cool chamberings and versions of the t3s.

Sounds good brother. You're not too far from me at all.
I really do like Savage rifles. I just wasn't crazy about the fit and finish of the 16 lightweight hunters I've looked at. The barrels were extremely free floated where you could see way down into the stock under the barrel. Also the stock...
Kinda thinking the same thing myself. Was pretty set on a Kimber Hunter despite Kimber's past issues, but may just go with a Tikka now. Don't really wanna gamble on getting one that will shoot.

Hey Rob, I haven't. Dont know anybody that has any but ive fondled all three. I'm in Giles County. I really appreciate the offer and I just might get back to you on that. I think I've talked to you on TGO about the Savages before and you gave some real good insight.
I appreciate the help guys...
Thanks for all the help guys. It seems like Tikka is advertising the weight of the Lites wrong. For the price, I'll probably end up with one. I really liked the Kimber Hunter, but not sure I wanna take a gamble on a Kimber.
Eagle, I appreciate you looking that up for me. That's a few hour...
Hey guys. So, I'm gonna buy a lightweight rifle soon and I'm still trying to decide what I want. I've looked at the Savage Lightweight Hunters and Kimber Hunters. The Kimber is probably at the top end of what I'd like to spend. I've never given Tikkas much of a chance because I'm not real crazy...
Hey Jimbob. I'm considering these 2 scopes also. How much difference did you notice between the two. Curious as to what made you decide the vx3 is not worth the extra cost.
Also, you guys that have Swaro Z3s, what made you choose them over the cheaper Vx-3s?
Cool sneaky. I grew up in middle TN near Franklin but I'm in Giles County now. It's changed a lot here since I was a kid.

Had a draft Hefeweizen at a local German restaurant that was my favorite yet. May have had something to do with the good food too lol. Shiner Bock is my favorite to drink regularly though.

I think you have to go with your gut a little bit and common courtesy goes a long way. I still have yet to hunt out West, and have a gotten a ton of good info about gear and strategies from you guys that are out there doing it. That's what makes this place so great. But I would never expect...
I just got mine in today. They fit true to size and feel pretty comfortable. Feel heavy when you hold them, but like a tennis shoe when you're wearing them. Will try to get em on some hikes soon. Happy with the purchase though. Can't beat that price.
Thanks GK. I may do that. I just love a short rifle. Lol some of Luke's posts are what got me thinking about going that short. Figure I could still get enough velocity to hunt out to 3-400 yards. That's probably as far as I'd ever shoot.

I agree with you GK. The trigger guard isn't a concern to me. I think you'd have to really screw up to break it. The stock felt fine to me on the Hunters too. Less flex than other synthetic stocks I've seen. I didn't notice any to be honest but I didn't try real hard to flex it in the store...
Hey CorbLand, was wondering if you ever did pick up that Kimber Hunter. After handling one and a Savage Lightweight Hunter side by side, I've pretty much decided on the Kimber. I'd love to have an Adirondack but can't afford that.
Thinking about getting a Hunter in 7mm-08 and having the barrel...
Good luck brother! That's a nice buck for sure. It's always cool to have your hard work scouting pay off by seeing one like that. Hope you can get him on the ground soon.
Sweet. Just ordered a pair. Thanks for posting this. Wasn't planning on buying these for a while but it's too good a deal to pass up.
