Tennessee actually & I'm mostly in the hilly bits! I've had it around the trails in Western Wyoming & it's actually super stable with a trailer. 55-60 on asphalt or well graded hardpack is no trouble & rutted corduroy/washboard is fine too about 40. Being attached to the swing arm keeps the...
I've been know to, a time or two.....
However, I've realized that I don't hunt with them enough to warrant keeping an extensive stable anymore.
Now I'm just down to my little, 16" cutdown 336 in .44mag. It's got fixed sights, zeroed at 50yds & for anywhere I'd hunt with a lever, it's perfect.
Just trying to ascertain an average price line here.
What is everyone paying to have a simple Euro mount done?
I'm specifically looking for costs on deer, just the whitened skull, no plaque.
I'm thinking of maybe starting a quick sideline gig & I don't want to price myself out of the market...
Great, used condition Dyer Rendezvous mocs.
Super heavy, waxed leather with double sole. Well worn, but literally a lifetime's worth of use left. Perfect for early season stalking. They feel kinda stiff when you first put them on, but they soften up really quickly. They're tough enough to deal...
My main reasoning for choosing the Teedub was mostly because where I spend most of my hunting time is steep, wet, grassy hills & mud & on these it excels. Especially with the upgraded rear wheel. I literally can go where my buddy with his ATV can't. Although I have no experience riding Rocky...
2 pieces of 3x2 clamping top & bottom of the receiver in a machine vice.
That's all I've used in about 25 AR builds. Never had a barrel nut back off yet.
Used but great condition The Hood in Tussock green. Only worn 3 or 4 times. No damage at all, as far as I can find.
I tried this on this morning & after losing weight, it fits me like a frigging circus tent. I immediately bought another in the right size, that's how good they are.
$65 tyd (L48)
UPDATE:
Yep, definitely wish I had more gun..... .223 is absolutely 'marginal'
Shoulder in place. Obviously 'crunchy' feeling.
Exit wound inside offside shoulder.
Interior of shoulder.
Exterior.
Bone fragments everywhere, tissue displacement you could throw a dachshund puppy through...
I hog hunt pretty regularly with an abbreviated Husky in 9.3x57 & not often enough, I also hunt an original 1898 dated 1898 that was rebored to 9x57 sometime around 1922.
Pretty much about as much as the barrel. Slimming a barrel profile down is a pain in the ass to do. You need special tooling for the lathe to prevent tool chatter.
I just sent them this:
"I was wondering if it's possible to have a barrel specially built.
There are a few guys on the Rokslide hunting forum that have built, or are building, ultra-utralight non gassed ARs as hunting rifles. I'm presently shooting a sub 5lb rifle, based on a TN Arms carbon...
Yeah, I tried 7.62x39 in a BCA (🤮) barrel.
It wasn't stupidly sticky, but it was bad enough that I decided that it was worth the effort & expense to build a .300 Ham'r with a Wilson barrel instead.
Speaking of barrels, if anyone decides to try & persuade X-Caliber to do a discount on a group...
I hit my 3 year mark on November 3rd.
The stopping drinking led to the idea of a healthier life altogether, which led to losing the weight, which led to more motivation to exercise, which led to me hunting further & harder!
50 years old & I'm literally in better shape now than I was at 18...
