    Swarovski EL vs Leica Noctivid

Any optic with field flatteners will have some level of rolling ball. The Zeiss SFs are another bino (besides the Swaros) that have the effect…if you notice it.

    Swarovski EL vs Leica Noctivid

I’m very sensitive to chromatic aberration and the Noctivids definitely had more of it than the ELs, or any other Swaro for that matter. I also suffer from rolling ball as well and the ELs were the worst that I’ve seen in that department. I’ve been along time fan of the SLCs (because there was...

    Proximity vs Stratus jacket

I had the Stratus bibs and jacket and now have the Proximity set. I had to layer quite a bit with the Stratus - base layers, mid layer, insulation, then Stratus. With the Proximity I just wear base layers and I am more comfortable at the same temperatures. I would say the Proximity sits right...

Great glass, buy once, cry once

I would go with the spotter over the BTX system. The spotter will give you the ability to zoom in to 60x while the BTX is gonna be fixed at 30x. For western hunting I think that a spotter would be a lot more versatile, especially since you already have 12x50’s. Whatever your choice, it is...

Bino studs and adapters for NL Pures

So I just got a stud and adapter set from Mutnt Gear for my NLs and I’m a little disappointed because once installed the binos still have a lot of play while in use. For those who have the Outdoorsman system, do your NLs stay pretty solid after being mounted?

    First good spotter?

I haven’t actually looked through the Razor spotters yet, but based on reviews I do not consider them cheaper spotters. I’ll echo what Tahoe said - if you can’t find them first with binos, chances are you’re not going to be using the spotter much. Now you can try to glass with a spotter of...

    First good spotter?

A good set of quality binos in 8x or 10x will out-glass a cheaper spotter, as well as your Diamondback 8s and 15s for that matter. With your budget you can certainly get into a pair of quality binos. There are a few pairs of Swaro SLCs as well as a pair of Leica Noctivids in the classifieds...

    Zeiss Victory HT Binoculars

I personally loved them when I tried them. When I decided to upgrade they had been discontinued, so I went with SLCs instead. But if they were still making them those would be the binos I own.

    Which Swarovski binoculars

I just want to add a word about the rolling ball effect in the ELs. It varies from person to person so my recommendation is to try them out first before buying. Another post already said that there was no rolling ball, but for me the rolling ball effect in the ELs was so apparent that I will...
