So I shot a bull just after sunset but still within legal light. Arrow flight looked great at a quartering away bull at 38 yards. Bull barely acknowledged the Arrow ripping through him. Took a few steps so I sent another. This one I did not compensate the yardage change It went straight through... -

Who's 'All In' for archery only elk this year
Very focused on my CO LE archery tag. I was able to pick up an archery bear tag for the same unit so I guess I am technically not just elk hunting. 6 days and counting! -

elk calls for a new again beginner?
I have found that the Hunter’s specialties Wayne Carlton reeds are some of the most forgiving for my mouth. Pretty similar to the primos which are based on the Rocky Mountain. Just a personal preference but I don’t have to work as hard to get great bugle sounds. Love Phelps and Rocky Mtn as well... -

Thanks for sharing! I feel some of the same things. I am using this weekend to do my final packing and prep. Truck goes in on Monday for a full service. Pack coolers around lunchtime on Tuesday and hit the road. That will get me into the area around dark to set up camp. Will give me all day... -

Ranging Elk For Archery

Single pin slider use?

Re-installing inserts?
Be very careful when trying to remove hits that are epoxied in. I have done both the heating and dropping something heavy in the shaft. Heat can work but as mentioned above can destroy the carbon. Knocking them out rarely works and will bulge the shaft at the insert. If you get them out inspect...
