Is the current high tag demand a bubble that will crash in the next 10 years?

Demand will not decrease as the population increases. It will only become more difficult and more expensive. The brother of one of my close friends was told not to go to Africa to shoot the "big 5" in the middle 70's as it was to expensive (under $30K all in). Now it is virtually impossible to...

Montana Proposed bill to raise Non resident base hunting fees over 500%

Resources belong to the state and its residents. I have zero issues with any state charging non residents what they want to.

    Property/ vehicle insurance increases

Most (if not all) loan applications for homes and autos have "fine print" that states if you don't acquire insurance on your own the bank will do it for you. And you can bet your ass it will not be cheap.

    Colonoscopy....

Just had one 9 days ago. The prep is a pita. The not eating is a royal pain. When you feel a fart coming on.......RUN! You have maybe 5 seconds before you destroy another pair of underwear. Why anyone would put off getting one is beyond me. It aint worth dying over.

    Property/ vehicle insurance increases

Home insurance is weird. We were paying about $1300 a year when living in TN. Moved to Alaska and bought a house that is valued at more than our old house in TN. Premium dropped to $950 a year for same coverage.

    Your Ideal Alaskan Boat

OP, I mean no disrespect. But you really need to live here for a year or two before you decide what boat to purchase. There is a reason most of us end up with either several types of boats or we share experiences with buddies who have what we don't. Do you want to chase salmon in the ocean...

    Your Ideal Alaskan Boat

Move up here before deciding, General purpose boats do nothing great. Alaskans needs a jet river boat, a decent ocean boat, a boat for the Kenai, plus a couple of different inflatables for other duties. Buying boats for Alaska is an expensive rabbit hole. Make sure you have the cash and a place...

A few months ago PSA advertised left hand Ruger 30-06's at a good price. I immediately placed an order and my credit card was charged. A few days later received a tracking number. Then a few days later they emailed me the rifle was out of stock and my order was cancelled. My emails to them...

How are people affording these crazy home prices?

Property taxes only tell one side of the story. Sales tax, state income tax, vehicle registrations, personal property income tax, etc all need to be factored in. And finally add in cost of insurance for your vehicles and home.

Buy the LH Tikka in the caliber she wants Order a McMillan stock in the color(S) of her choice in the LOP she needs now. Have a 1/2 inch thick pad attached, then when she grows taller you can change it out to a 1 inch thickness Cut the barrel down so it is proportional to the stock and have it...

Who's using the Home Depot Husky tables or workbenches for their reloading station?

I use them. The 6 footers are great, have two. But I would avoid the 8 foot long tables as they sag in the middle over time. You could add a set of legs under the middle to prevent the sag if you wanted to.

    Inherited Ruger Hawkeye 300 RCM

The rifle makes this cartridge shine! I own both the 300 and 338 RCM's in left handed. Ruger built these with a slightly shorter length of pull, which is fantastic in thick areas or when wearing winter clothing. Plus mine have 20 inch barrels and factory iron sights. My advice, keep the rifle...
