At first didn't like the little rubber band system. Had gone back to mechanicals after shooting fixed "Montecs" for many years. Read an article about mechanicals on a military base where the biologists started tracking hunter recovery data on fixed vs mechanical broad heads over the last 5 or...
To the OP, if you are truly doing what you are saying by packing in deep, taking advantage of your cyberscouting, spike camping, etc., then you will be perfectly fine getting into game. Just look at the data of the OTC units, pick one, and work your same plan?

Guys,
I have a FL vapor light rain jacket that I like. Got caught in a pretty decent rain the other day and it seemed to be leaking pretty good around the shoulder seams. While I'd be happier if it didn't leak, I'm not going to crap on the jacket because it is on its 3rd season and is super...
Another bump for a great bow. I’m shooting my hyper force with 505 grain arrow/tip set up at 70lbs and love how it feels. Just killed a whitetail with it last weekend, complete pass through lung, lung, liver and stuck into a pine tree behind the deer.
For anyone who is interested this is a discontinued item. Attached here is the link explaining the specs. The newer version of this would be the Garmin Inreach explorer plus. I've had a couple questions so just want to be sure that people know what they are getting...
DeLorme InReach for sale. Used but not recently, I purchased several inReach devices for a recent backcountry trip and never set this unit up. Comes with cords and only has minor cosmetic issues. $150 PayPal, tyd.
Not just a Colorado issue. I've never understood why the Game agencies allow a first come first serve system to award leftovers. Seems like we should go at least one more round of random draw (no preference points needed) to draw. If after that there are still leftovers available then run a...
Here is what I would have done. First I would have assumed it was other hunters and got super frustrated and let it ruin my hunt. If somehow I did see the elk I would have got super excited but try to play it cool before I messed up by advancing too quickly. Third if I found the bedding area...
Yeti stuff is very good, there are very few knock-offs that compete on the soft cooler, gear bag landscape. I think on the hard coolers there are now multiple competitors that offer comparable options at far better price points, but I will continue to buy higher end brands like Yeti for soft...
In some instances "venting" can improve accuracy by replicating a more "field tip" like flight by reducing drag and tracking while the arrow is spinning. Venting has been used by many broad-head manufacturers as a way to improve accuracy.
That would be my guess.
Long Answer...I'm not a mule deer hunter but have hunted whitetails for over 25 years. It is more than anecdote, with some decent research now available, that mature whitetail bucks have a peak in daytime movement on the waxing moon the few days in front of full. I've always noticed that on...
