I have spent way too much money in Cabo, Mazatlan, Belize, Costa Rica, and others and I won't do it again. I've seen the pics of all the fish they got yesterday and they are always shocked at how bad the fishing was today.
A bit off topic, but I have tried the RRS Cinch-LR tripod adaptor which can be used on nearly any binoculars without the use of a stud. Basically it works great and it holds the binoculars firmly and in an excellent position for use with a Manfrotto fluid head. The one annoyance was that it...
Nicely said. As a former christian and now an atheist, I wish all religions would stop thinking they know exactly what god thinks. Maybe they could then live their own beliefs without pushing them onto others or killing people who believe differently.
Very similar to my uses. I love good binoculars and I recently overspent on 10x42 NL’s. Stupid price but they are stunning. Decided that I could use them for the next decade or so and the kids can inherit them instead the cash.
I’ve been to Kruger three times and absolutely love it. There is nothing real different about binocular needs there as opposed to other uses. You will be looking from a vehicle almost all the time so size isn’t a big factor. I’d focus on what you want to use the Binoculars for when you get...
I just bought 10X42 NL’s after using several varieties of alpha glass. Just comparing them in the store the differences were minor but the first time I had them in the woods looking for owls I was smitten. I use them more for birdwatching than hunting and they are worth the ridiculous price to...
I just ordered the RRS and I like the idea of that much better than a stud. I use a Manfrotto tripod and the built in plate apparently fits it. I plan to use it with NL’s and I don’t have to think about the stud getting in the way of my fingers when it’s not on the tripod.
I like that one too but I'm thinking that the RRS might be quicker to attach and detach. I'm expecting my 10x42 NL tomorrow and once I'm sure I'm keeping it then I'm going to try one. I like that type of system much better than tapping a stud in them and maybe banging my fingers on it.
Anxious to see how the resolution compares to the SF's. I have the 8X32 SF's and because I love the open bridge design and the wider field of view I doubt that I would have gone for the SFL. Here's a tripod adaptor I have high hopes for for a different pair of bins, but I haven't tried them...
You might take a look at the Nikon MHG 8x30. It has a wider field of view than the swaro, is a little lighter and a little cheaper. Nikon is also coming out with an M7+ 8x30 that will probably be around $500 and on paper it looks very good.
The magazine that smashed tips for me was the tikka OEM 5 round and it did it if you fired a round and there were other rounds in the magazine.
I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has the problem under those circumstances.
I bought one then saw a video of a guy who said it flattened the nose of his bullets. I thought that was unlikely but it did the same to mine. 6.5 PRC for reference.
I don’t see a downside to what you’re doing whether a person intends to clean regularly or not. You’re sighting the gun in during the break in so it doesn’t even waste ammo. Good plan!
