In answer to your original question, yes entry level 10X42’s will be fine. I have a stable full of alphas because I love binoculars but I doubt that I see more animals than the guy with cheapos, I just see them better.
I disagree with using 12X binoculars. Not everyone can hold them steady (I can’t) and your field of view diminishes greatly. I have 12’s and 15’s and love them, but only on a tripod over longer distances.
its main benefit is to those cleaning the ducts. For the most part if you have dust settled in your ducts it’s going to stay there, unless you disturb it by trying to clean it. I think it’s a scam BUT the dryer vent is a completely different matter, it can be a fire hazard and needs to be...
All my Fierce rifles shoot lights out. Sorry to all the cry bags out there. These guns shoot hell of a lot better than any other store bought rifle I’ve had. Keep the crap talking going lol. Means nothing to the guys that own them and love them. To the people that “read” this thread and decide...
In fairness to Az…., I’m pretty sure he doesn’t work for fierce. The last thing they want is for this thread to gain new life. He does have a personality that Fierce might want for their customer service. I only know one person who bought a Fierce and after sending it back for a new barrel it...
To some extent that’s all true but if “the individual using it” is wounding animals then it’s everyone’s problem. I already confessed that archery was unethical for me so I don’t do it. Yes, we label methods we don’t use as unethical because we don’t use them because they are unethical.
I hunted with a recurve bow for several years and for me it was unethical. Two wounded and lost, and one killed. No excessively long shots, I just screwed up. I know all that can be put on me, not the bow, but I would love to know the wound rate for bows and rifles, and especially long range...
For a bit of a wake up call read the book Misfire, all on the operations of the NRA. Yes, I know it's written by anti-gun commies and all, but fact check it and draw your own conclusions. They've been very effective at protecting us from the fear they create. I used to be a member but I don't...
Not trying to be argumentative because I don’t entirely understand FFP, but if I’m shooting at 600 yards wouldn’t I use the highest magnification of the scope, where the reticle is already true? In which case SFP is perfect.
As you might guess, it does not work out well. I had 4 guns I was sighting in and put an ELD-X .243 in a 6.5 PRC. It blew the plastic bolt shroud into my face and exploded the magazine. I was able to put the magazine back together but the shroud was destroyed. A bit of a gouge on my face...
I suspect that they have a lot of collimation issues so they decided not to cover them. Here's their response;
Thank you for contacting Celestron Tech Support, I would be more than happy to assist you.
My apologies, but your model has a limited life time warranty and this does not cover...
A few years ago I bought two sets of the Nature DX binoculars for my grandsons and they were rarely used until I took one of the boys hunting this fall. I looked through the binoculars and saw that they were completely out of collimation. I thought there was no problem because this was in the...
