Interesting to hate a brake. Curiosity of why? I never use to use brakes then i shot one. To me there isnt any down side with a side baffle brake. My 300 rum is a kitten and love shooting it. Spot shots through scope, rarely debrys in air after shot be it side baffle. Radials are horrible imop...
What about change in barrel harmonics for load? Been curious how or if this is a thing? On the fence myself for a can for a 300 rum that shoots lights out minimal recoil if any with a side baffel brake. Ear plugs are easy to deal with on a ridge top etc…
Put a new wolf 28# spring in, polished original firing pin with bore tech friction oil, bang same hole zero again. Absolutely was a bad spring. The original spring i had to pull off pin was bound and didn’t move free. Was frustrated to use 300 rounds of experimentation to land on a firing pin...
Been looking at these to replace a stock on a 300 rum. Rifles for high country back pack hunting. Rear bag and bi pod. For the most part curious how they shoot compared to a traditional style. Thanks in advance.
possible correct. If anything gathered tools for fire control should have anyway and not a bad idea taking apart every now and then anyway for a look see and clean. The possible reasons are large… perhaps its just me… The flyer aspect was just on a 308 so it baffled me looking for reasons...
Have had a few flyers and been going down the path of fire control and important factors that can create random flyers. Shroud and spring seem to be possible reasons from those such as Eric Cortina, Speedy, F class john etc if follow any literature from that group. Gretan springs are 20-22 # and...
Bought them from wilson. Have yet to use them. Sounded like a good thing. But is it necessary? Been years… Should i as well? Perhaps….use forester dies and press that achieve my goals. Guess its all relative to what your goals are and results. FLS only here. I think annealing is a every time...
Have a old truck I specifically take to a couple trail heads that access areas id otherwise not get to. The paint is vastly gone, dents, dings… well seasoned.….Lack of funding to maintain the roads is a thing…Work too hard to ruin my main truck nor do i want to treat it that way and yes its a...
Done it. Im not concerned about process… Was asking about dremeling out area of stock for adhesion? I have not taken material out befor with fine results. Yet its been shared a few times to create area… Think ill just take out 1/8 max depth on a few areas cant hurt, tang etc…
Opinions on dremeling out area for bedding to adhere to? Ive had good luck just bedding recoil lug with tape only on bottom of lug. 1/4 moa gun. New stock ready to bed with marine tex. Kinda a keep it simple guy with this stuff. But no less right is right, thanks… forgot to mention its a CA FFT...
