Pretty much all of the scopes being discussed here are winners and would work well. You can get custom yardage turrets made for most or even replaceable labels that work very well also. They all come with moa turrets if you prefer to use electronics that give you the solution to dial.
I do...
For a hunting scope I love my Huskemaw. I realize that Huskemaw is viewed by many as just a product of BOTW tv show but really they are a great hunting scope. I have had two 5x20 for 15 years and have been very satisfied. They have very dependable tracking, very good glass, and good size and...
How did your load turn out?
I loaded my 7RUM with 180 Berger VLD over Retumbo
and it was around .5 moa until the barrel toasted.
I've rebarreled to a 7PRC now expecting a much longer life.
I've loaded 180 vld and 175 EH Bergers for the past 15 years and done great. That said I would absolutely trust 160 accubonds for elk as I have used them also.
I wish Nosler offered the original accubond in a 170 to 180 grain weight as I've not had great results with the ABLR version.
I had a 01 & 08 Ram 2500 then a 2011 3500 all with Cummins. The next 2 were 1500s - Hemis with 3.92 rear axle that would pull moderate loads great. My 2nd 1500 was recently damaged in a wreck with a lengthy repair so I got a new 2500 because I couldn't find a 15 with the longer bed and Rambox...
I switched to Swaro binos this past year and it sure helps although I'm still very slow at picking up mulies from the brush.
Several of you guys have commented about the difficulty of following the bloodtrail. I am the same, on hands and knees trying to locate drops due to my colorblindness...
I've hunted near the Thorofare 3 times, once in 56, twice in 59 and had great times. Finally going into the actual famed region this fall pending the draw.
Myself and buddy are booked with CQ for the last week of rifle. Rolling the dice to hit the migration.
I been enjoying the reads for awhile and decided to come on in.
I'm not a big talker but sure enjoy the western hunting scene.
Thanks for the welcome.
