If that 170 T/A shoots good for you it should really be an excellent big game bullet. Been a fan of the Federal T/A bullet for years, wish I could get them to reload.
I pulled bullets from both the Hornady and Federal 175 Eld-X the charge weights were both 67 grains. Both of the powders looked to me like H1000. The Federal was 3.210 OAL and the Hornady was 3.290 OAL.The Federal shot under MOA in my Christensen Ridleline FFT the Hornady shot very poor and...
That's really good velocity as Federal claims 2950 fps for the 170 gr T/A. I have had excellent results with several calibers using Federal's T/A ammo. Accuracy is great and performance on game has been great also. Have 3 boxes of 7mm PRC 170 T/A on my ammo shelf, gonna try and get out this...
I believe this is the new name for the Cabela's Hunting Adventures. I booked an elk hunt in Montana with them last year and the contact person was Eric. He was quick to respond to all questions and satisfied all my questions. Hunt was successful, killed a elk second day. Would book with him again.
Unless you reload the factory ammo selection seems to be much better with the 7mm PRC. Federal already has the 175 ELD-X and a 170 T/A and it looks like they are planning a 155 T/A also. Hornady and Weatherby also have ammo. Winchester is about the only ammo you can find in the 6.8 Western...
The Federal 175 Eld-x in my Christensen Ridgeline FFT 22" barrel have been averaging 2870 and shoot .5 moa and the Hornady 175 Eld-x in my rifle are just a waste of time (pressure signs and poor groups. So far a 175 Berger Elite Hunter with a max load H1000 have averaged 2942 and group .4 mao...
I have several pairs of wading boots, Simms, Orvis and Cabelas. I have both the high tops and the hiking boot types. They both have their purpose. The high ones I prefer when in water with a lot of rocks and the hiker type in smoother bottom rivers. The hiker type for me seem a bit more...
