I read some of these posts and got tired of reading it all. Can someone answer me something. Is there pictures of the barrel with no rifling? I'd like to see that. The OP still has the rifle correct?
Since my Dad passed all my rifles have been in the safe. Take his Pre-64 featherweight. No new rifle can compare with the craftsmanship on those old rifles. Oh, take my Savage 99 in 250 every once in a while too.
I've killed deer with a M1 Garand and a 1917 Eddystone. They ae plenty accurate for deer hunting, especially with their peep sights. I have an Argentine Mauser I want to try if I ever get the sights regulated. It shoots way high. I also have a Smith Corona O3-A3 that shoots cast bullets...
