Thats pretty interesting actually. I wonder the truth behind it and if so how current the coordinates are? Even if they were not current you might be able to establish a route that they are using and sit that area.
Not sure where you spent the weekend, but I was also out scouting on the E-side of WA this last weekend. It was HOT! I spent a lot of time at pretty high elevation for WA. I did not see bears this trip but it is also pretty early for them to be that high. With that being said I have seen black...
I used it for most of this years spring bear season. So for about 2 months. I honestly did not have issues with it snagging or getting in the way of anything while using it. It sits pretty flush to the body and does not interfere with my waist belt on my pack.
Welcome to the forum! Active duty Army. Lived in WA almost my entire life. Stationed at JBLM now. Let me know if you ever want to chat about hunting in WA.
I will second this. I have 4 pairs of these things I love them so much. At 20$ you really cant go wrong. Good color options, superlight, extremely comfy and I have never had an issue with durability.
If I am being honest one of my biggest fears in bear country. Not so much when I am with people but alone it definitely crosses my mind. Thanks for the article!
Finally made it happen on Memorial weekend. I drew this WA Spring Bear tag and really wanted to take advantage of getting out during the Spring and learning some new country. It is thick thick country. I had been watching a couple of bears for awhile but just could not find a way to close the...
Really good podcast. Scott had a lot of really good information. Really interesting to hear some of his thoughts and predictions about the overall state of multiple different states and the influx in applicants and how it can affect everything. Keep up the good work Rokcast!
I have given up on regular radio and current music. I would say that 95% of my listening time goes to podcast. So many good options right now. A lot of good information out there. These are probaly not all the podcasts that I listen to but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my...
I spent the last weekend up there in GMU 111 did not see anything. Still seemed a little early in my experience but should be getting much better in the next few weeks! Such an awesome time to be in the hills.
I have such a love hate relationship with WA. It has so much potential. It just seems to get worse and worse every year. I have lived here for about 30 years and it used to be good, actually it used to be great. So much has changed in the last 15 years. It absolutely blows my mind. I can only...
It actually doesn't move back and forth very much at all. The clips that attach to the bino harness straps are very snug so it prevents alot of the movement.
Never a stupid question man. But to answer your question not bad at all. Now if I had a full sized 1911 then might be a little more noticeable, but with a sub-compact pistol I do not notice a difference at all in weight. I actually prefer it more. Its more centered this way instead of on one...
So for me it just makes more sense. I used to have my pistol located on my waist belt of my pack. But as soon as the pack comes off I no longer have my pistol. I wear my bino harness literally all the time unless I am sleeping so it just makes it so much more convenient. Also frees up some space...
This helped me out so much. Thank you! I have the same vortex tripod and currently looking at the VA5 and a carbon tripod. Everything I have read is that the VA5 is by far the best head on the market for the price. It is making it very tempting but I think you just sealed the deal for me. Thanks...
