Man those Ultra's are no joke. I started doing Sprint Tri's in the off season which soon led to Olympic distance then Half Ironman, then full Ironman. We always laugh and say, marathon's are crazy but put a 2 mile swim and a 112 mile bike ride in front of it, yeah that makes perfect sense...
I don't get to see much of it either, just highlights but it's super fun to watch. Waayyy back when @philos and I wrestled in High School, Iowa was just on fire at every weight class and I've kinda rooted for them ever since.
Thanks Steelruger22. I wish I had a longer range to shoot it at. All I ever took it to was 300yds.
I had never shot anything with double set triggers before so when I first got it I took a sharpie and wrote "FIRE" and "SET" on the underside so my little brain could keep it straight and I...
Steyr SSG 69 P1 in .308 Win. Comes with 2 magazines, Talley 1" QD rings, and the original muzzle cap. Has the double set triggers. LOP to the rear trigger is 13". Very good condition. I never shot it much and all I ever shot was factory ammo. It wasn't very picky but seems like Hornady...
I used a EXO K2 lid on a Kuiu 4000 and it worked fine. I don't think it took any major modification. Don't know why it wouldn't work for the 2300. I think any of the lids for a Granite Gear, Gregory, Osprey, etc. could work as well.
I made the pocket out of some scrap neoprene waders that I had. I didn't open up any of the seams on the 3300 bag just sewed it directly on to the side. While I was fitting it I just made sure it wasn't so deep (tall) that I wouldn't be able to reach it while wearing the pack. I only put it...
I added a small pocket to the bottom of a 3300 bag. I didn't need it to be big enough for a water bottle, just head lamp, beanie, gloves etc. I didn't spend a ton of time to make it look good but it works perfect.
Been traveling west to hunt for the last 34 years. We were blessed with very nice deer the first few years in a row so it set the bar pretty high and we've left it there ever since. When we come out the standard actually goes up toward the end of the hunt because we know how much work goes...
For an Arizona hunt, and if I wasn't sure I was overnighting or not, I would probably take the Argali Owyhee that Bergy mentioned above. The Owyhee packs small enough and is light enough to throw in as a just-in-case type shelter. A piece of tyvek which will do double duty as a meat-sheet can...
My resting average has been 37-40 BPM for as long as I can remember. It always sets off the low limit alarm on the monitor when the nurse checks my BP/HR. I hope it's due to regular exercise. We did Ironman for several years along with sprint and olympic distance tri's. Haven't done a...
