I want to go after that buck but he’s moved about 1.5 miles since Monday and is barely on private now. Just talked to the landowner and he has it leased out to an outfitter. No chance in access.
Damn!

I bought the tag, deserve the pressure..
The wide buck (I thought was a 2x3) is actually a 3x4 that’s crabby. I’m watching him run a doe through the timber. Super windy.

Sorry guys...headed in the opposite direction of the cows. Headed to where the broke G3 buck and wide 2 pt was. There were also a few cows over there too

Here’s the video it finally downloaded so I figured I’d post it. Nothing new revealed just me blabbing on some more...

Man I just don’t think it’s worth the time and effort to go back. Might sound lazy but onX shows it’s about 3.75 miles and a 2500 ft climb to where that buck was from the truck.
He’s just not that impressive. I think a day could be spent better elsewhere

Hey Travis, while that buck was nice he’s not worth going back after. I’m thinking about glassing tomorrow morning, then packing up camp and moving about 30 miles. We’ve hit this area pretty hard.

After about a 2 hr hike I got to within 230 yards until the terrain opened up and I was caught out exposed. Buck had me pegged. It was...
Anybody know what causes a bucks antlers to have the acorn type growth? Is it a genetic trait, environment, health related?

Ok, I found him with my spotter in his bed. He’s not bad, doesn’t fork well, but tall and wide. I have a long ways to go but I’m going after him!

Saw my first acorn buck! Unfortunately he was about 100”.
4 other bucks so far. One might be big, I just got a glimpse before he bedded down...he’s along ways across the canyon so I want to make sure I am able to judge him before I head that way.

Sorry but not much to show today...so I figured I’d recap how this hunt correlates to 2 yrs ago...
Tomorrow will be a good day!
