Kimber Mountain Ascent if you already have a super lite Tikka?

I was in a similar situation as you about a year ago. I'm a huge Tikka fan but for some reason I tried to over complicate things when I wanted a new .308 do all riffle. I bought a Kimber Mountain Ascent. In my defense it was lighter and did already have a threaded barrel so I could run it...

    S&B lost zero x3

The scope has been on 2 different rifles so I don’t think that’s the issue. Same Seekins rings on both rifles so that could be a possibility. Both times attached to a picatinny rail. Current rifle is aTikka CTR in an KRG chassis. Only shift is vertical, never had a horizontal shift. Seems like I...

    S&B lost zero x3

I’ve got a S&B PMII, about 5 years old. Hasn’t been abused but I have hunted with it. First 2 times it lost zero I blamed it on the Pelican rifle case I was using to transport it for a hunting trip. I would put both my shotgun and rifle in the same case and my theory was the shotgun was banging...

    Markers for labeling mags

What do you use? Multiple guns, multiple calibers, multiple mags, its only a matter of time before I find myself with the wrong mag for the gun I want to shoot. A simple sharpie good enough?

    G9 Defense

Anyone have experience with their .308 ammo? I'm tempted to try some in my hunting rifle. 16" Barlein barrel that I'm running suppressed. I'd love to find something that gives me better velocity than most factory ammo.

    Suppressor Opinion: Meh, It’s Ok

When you shoot at a herd of mule deer without a suppressor after the first shot they run off. When you shoot at a herd with a suppressor after the first shot they stand there looking at you. Reason enough for me to run a can.

    Light weight left hand action

I bought one from JA Outdoors. Came with the bottom “metal”, mag, and trigger. Sometimes their website inventory isn’t up to date so it’s worth a call.

    Light weight left hand action

Depends on your definition of affordable and lightweight. Agree with above that Tikka is a good option but 2ish pounds. I bought a Kelbly Nanook 25ish ounces and $1300.

    Shooting without adjustable cheek riser

So what am I missing? Many years ago I took a precision rifle class and the first thing we did was tape a piece of pipe insulation to the stock to allow our eye to line up perfectly with the scope. What a difference! So much more comfortable. So much more accurate. The ability to fully relax...

FAQ: Match and Target Bullets for Hunting (Open Tip and Hollow Point)

I didn't specifically ask him but my assumption was he didn't want to pressure the heard too much since there was still a couple guys that needed animals. It worked out since the heard came back the next day.

FAQ: Match and Target Bullets for Hunting (Open Tip and Hollow Point)

Have you guys considered publishing some type of bullet bible or is there a reference you recommend? “This bullet tends to produce this and that bullet does that? I listened to the podcast on bullets but my eyes started to go cross about halfway through. So much great information to digest.

FAQ: Match and Target Bullets for Hunting (Open Tip and Hollow Point)

I’m dealing with the dilemma of having a match bullet shoot great in my rifle but did not perform well on game. I shoot a .308 Tikka with a 20” barrel. It loves factory SMK’s but I was hesitant to use a match bullet on game. It shot them so well I decided to use them. I shot a cow elk at 450...

I tried to cancel my Sportsman’s order but was too late. Oh well. Now, should I pick up an NSX for another rifle!?

    Trijicon Tenmile 3-18 vs 6-24

I bought the 3-18 Tenmile in MOA. Sportsman has them for $1350 and if you sign up for their text message garbage you save another $100. For $1250 that’s a lot of scope. I think the reticle on the 6-24 would be too thick and I really dislike scopes that don’t have a zero stop.

Me too. Not sure how I feel about the capped elevation turrets.
