I just picked up a tikka 6.5 Manbun for this very same reason. I plan to hunt deer, elk, moose, bear, and sheep with my new build. Cutting barrel to 18” and threading for suppressor and/or break. Changing stock to rokstok.. and adding a Swfa 3-9 HD. If I do the work the rifle will be a killer...
Thanks I will check them out. Different lighting on the projects/materials makes everything appear different colors. Hard to decide. Doesn’t really matter however it would be nice if it looked “real nice”😂
Ordered one yesterday for a new tikka 6.5 Manbun build. I ordered it in tikka sporter with front arca/pic one color..Was it wrong to order the tikka sporter fit? A lot of talks on dead cat space.. couldn’t a guy dremel if it’s too tight? Wouldn’t “form” have specified enough barrel room on the...
I just recently reached out.. no timeline updates. Hopefully when they do show up it’s a high cube container full! My order was February. I did however back order with no timeline.
X2 on sunglasses. I don’t leave home without them. I also bring a thing of visine in my kit.. glassing and/or crazy wind can make your eyes dry. As for the the actual “must haves” alpine camping gear and hunting/mountaineering apparel, footwear, gear, etc. The UL units in my limited experience...
All the people talking about chapstick.. I use dermatone for my lips, nose, neck and whatever else is going to be burning! I agree you can easily overpack.. Too light or too heavy can lead to discomfort. Just right is found by training and practice in my experience. My 2c
I am also interested if they keep up with similar priced RF binos.. the 4 series glass looks good with my eyes. I have yet to hold these myself. Following to see what real life users have to say.
I just bought a tikka 6.5 man bun also thinking of cutting back to ~16-18”. What changes do you see on your previous builds in accuracy, mv, etc? I am putting a Swfa 3-9. Currently sour on a leupold that won’t hold its zero. Use Zeiss if it works for you!
I like what you guys are doing with the color options! Go to a gun store they are mostly black, tan, green, or brown. This stock is hopefully something special. Let them have fun with the first few! If every option is butt ugly few will buy it. Or rattle can over it! Endless custom options...
I am also thinking about this for my young girls. I want to buy them a tikka .223 for their first big game rifle. I would like to get stainless steel and a short barrel with compact stock. However it appears tikka in.223 only comes blued. Not a deal breaker. Good thoughts on sourcing a factory...
Farm to feet makes amazing socks. You get what you pay for typically. Its worth it for the backcountry to have two pairs of good socks to rotate. What is $50 compared to the rest of your gear?
“The difference between a live grunt and a dead grunt? Your feet!”
Take care of your feet!
I have handled one in the store on a few occasions. For the money it seems to be the cheapest carbon barreled factory gun. I personally Can’t quite pull the trigger to purchase. It feels great in hand. I would prefer a drop mag and a different style carbon stock, etc.. However I imagine as is...
Depending on your vehicle of course.. Generally on ice leave your traction control/stabilatrac whatever your manufacturer calls it on. In deep snow or mud I personally turn them off. In ice it will send power or braking to individual wheels and work to keep your vehicle “under control”. I am...
