    Zip off base layers?

Kuiu merino zip offs here. Have used sheep and deer hunting. If money is an issue buy on sale. Every holiday they seem to have something. If you are patient you can save considerably on Kuiu gear. Before the Kuiu base layers I wore UA synthetic and what an improvement! Not that they didn’t work...

    Gear Storage Ideas

I use the black and yellow totes from Menards. Same as HD, Lowe’s, whatever.. Label them top and side on the handle. I have a 11ft ceiling in my garage so I have hanging storage over my garage doors and around my garage. I can stack totes two high. Along with a third stall full of fishing and...

    Chopping a 6.5 creedmoor

I very recently chopped a new tikka 6.5 24” down to 18” and added a UM SS Pro 4 break. Averaged ~.6” three shot groups on the first 40 rounds. I was impressed to say the least. Factory loaded 147 Eldm and 142 Smk No idea on muzzle db.. doubt 18-20 would be much more than factory. Velocity as...

0 or 20 deg kifaru slick bag?

    Kestrel

Will that “5000 link”with the app such as “shooter” do you know? Or would one need a ballistics version. All I want is wind, temp, and DA readings for the most part. And Bluetooth “link” connectivity would be a bonus. Let me know if anyone has experience. Thanks

    Calculating backcountry miles

That is pretty damn sweet.. For people trying to plot campsites in areas with little flat spots or soft ground that could be extremely helpful! I will give it a try and see if my experience plays out in a similiar timeline. Thanks for the link.

Down versus synthetic longevity- SG and Kifaru (Apex)

Ryan Avery did a podcast on down jackets wetting out. Cannot remember all the jackets tested however SG was the best. Kuiu treated superdown came in second. I was still thinking I would go Kuiu when my garbage down jacket fails. SG Grumman face fabric 15. Kuiu SD pro is 30. I don’t claim to be a...

    Sitka, Kuiu, or another brand

Kuiu Kutana pants are good durable pants. Attack pants are decent as well. If you are looking for 32 degree clothing... Add kuiu merino base layers long johns and ls. I use the FL sawtooth hybrid mid. Kuiu superdown pro jacket is real good for glassing. My 2c.

    Spotting scope dilemma

Have used both the 65 & 85 leupold sx4 spotters for sheep/deer hunting. I thought they worked well. However I do not have experience with “alpha glass” so take my guidance for what it’s worth..
