    Favorite Solid Color for Hunting

For the mtns I like grays but if it’s a busy mountain with a lot of hunters on it i’ll throw on some blaze orange. My buddy used to wear bright white coveralls when dall sheep hunting, he had great success doing that and usually got very close to the sheep.

    Zeiss Conquest V6 3-18x50

I have had a couple conquests in the past and either sold them or they were stolen by a family member and sold/traded for meth which was unfortunate. I may have to pull the trigger on one of these, and that’s my favorite reticle. Thanks for the heads up.

    Tikka T3x lite recoil

A limbsaver helps these rifles a lot, my brother has a T3x lite 30-06 with a airpad and I have a 7mm-08 superlite that’s stock and his still has a little more thump but it’s not much..a heckuva lot better than prior to the limbsaver. The 7mm-08 is pretty tame but my wife uses it sometimes so I...

One rifle to do it all

I have had a lot of rifles and different calibers over the last 20 yrs but this year purchased a 308win. I don’t handload and was looking for 280ai ammo which is almost impossible to find. I noticed almost everywhere had 308 ammo so I solved my problem by buying a 308. Very versatile with...

Christiansen Arms VS Tikka VS Savage

I have a CA Mesa in 308win and my wife shoots a T3x superlite in 7mm-08. Both shoot factory ammo under 1”, if looks are important to you the CA is a great choice but if not go for the Tikka, no frills and they’re known for being accurate and reliable. I haven’t had a savage that I really liked...

280 Remington enough for AK moose?

I’ve killed AK moose with my 280 and 140gr TTSX, never had to shoot more than 125 yds and the only bullet i’ve recovered was on the far side stuck in the hide with perfect peeled back pedals.

.270 on whitetail - short range

I’ve killed deer inside of 40 yds out to 300 yds with the 130gr barnes ttsx, never recovered a bullet but the results were there and my 270 really likes the barnes bullets. My 2nd choice would be the partitions, also very deadly but since switching to ttsx I haven’t had a reason to go back.

    Vortex vs Leupold Hunting Scope

I was split between the same 2 scopes until I did a side x side comparison, Leupold won hands down. Glass is similar but I love the firedot and the weight difference is noticeable..also the leupold seemed more refined to me.
