    Southern ID rut timing

I feel it depends on weather. I also hunt S. Idaho and have seen the rut start before 10/31 then some years not until 11/20.

    Cold Weather Gear

Im not worried about packable. Usually ride in on horses so I’ll be extremely stationary for the brunt of the ride. Also if its overnight we’ll have a sheep herders tent so storage isn’t a problem.

Combo Bow/Rifle case for Air Travel

My dad flew to Africa a while back with a 1750 (still have it to this day). He was able to put his bow (Diamond Rock) and his rifle (Ruger M77 .300 win) in one case. He did end up adding about 2’’ of foam into it for a little more protection on his bow. He didn’t add any molle or straps and...

    Backcountry Bear Baiting

From my experiences as soon as one bear starts hitting, the rest follow. Especially a sow with cubs.

    Salmon Region of ID.

You don’t ever need it, until you need it. I know an ambulance is crazy expensive so I wouldn’t even want to see a life flight bill without insurance.

Affordable Pack for First Season of Baiting

I stopped using dog and swapped to popcorn. I would loot the movie theater dumpsters everyday before work and would still pop some at work and mix in melted marshmallows from the dollar store. I did get lucky and found someone whos freezer went out and got a bunch of old chicken and fish and...

Vortex Viper 4x16x44mm or 4x16x50 both in HS LR scopes.

I’ve had two; one on a ruger American in .270. Shot well out to 500, never pushed out past that. Sold it for a VX3, then recently bought one two years ago for a 6.5 Grendel AR. Haven’t shot it past 100 yet but does it fine.

    Leopold vx5 problems

Not a VX-5 specifically, but I’ve never had a problem with any Leupold scopes. Many VX-1s, 2s, and 3s (and LRPs).
