Point creep was pretty brutal. The unit I applied for had close to 50% worse odds at an entire point level higher than last year. Seems most of the others I had my eye on also jumped an entire point.
I think you may be right. I was hoping to draw this year because I reckon there will be an influx of people using their points next year, resulting in more point creep. But the decrease in NR tag allocation (along some folks posting about applying for this same hunt with more than 2 points than...
Pretty sure point creep is going to get me on elk, but should have a good chance at drawing a high country muley tag. Excited to find out tomorrow and let the fun prep & planning begin.
Easton Sonic or Gold Tip Force FOC would be solid options. If you do want to go small diameter then the Easton Axis or Victory RIP TKO are also good but much more expensive.
You are right. You can purchase a preference point when you apply and go into the draw with that point. If you do not apply, then you can also buy a preference point later in the year.
I got 1850 and was pretty fired up to get a number that good.. unfortunately there are 10 A tag zones sold out already and I haven't gotten in yet. LOL

I ordered a Lift 33 yesterday. I shot a bunch of the new bows and was very close to getting a Core SR. That bow was sweet - I only shot it in comfort but got similar speeds to the Lift in a much smoother draw cycle. That thing drew like butter.
I just picked up a Swaro ATC 17-40x56 as my first nice optic and absolutely love that thing. I pretty much backpack hunt exclusively so the smaller weight/profile are important to me and the glass is very good. However, if you're looking for something more all around a 65mm might be the way to...
