    Fingers crossed for CO

Point creep was pretty brutal. The unit I applied for had close to 50% worse odds at an entire point level higher than last year. Seems most of the others I had my eye on also jumped an entire point.

    Colorado draw results 2024

This is the year of the deer for me. Drew a Gunnison archery mule deer in CO in September and then MT mulies later in the fall. Pretty stoked.

Drew my second choice but will be returning it to chase mulies instead.

Looks like I'm headed to the high country - bow in hand

    Fingers crossed for CO

I think you may be right. I was hoping to draw this year because I reckon there will be an influx of people using their points next year, resulting in more point creep. But the decrease in NR tag allocation (along some folks posting about applying for this same hunt with more than 2 points than...

    Fingers crossed for CO

Pretty sure point creep is going to get me on elk, but should have a good chance at drawing a high country muley tag. Excited to find out tomorrow and let the fun prep & planning begin.

    2024 Wyoming Draw thread

Nothing for me. Kinda shocked I didn't draw a $2000 cow tag with my second choice but oh well!

    What lighter arrow for hunting?

Easton Sonic or Gold Tip Force FOC would be solid options. If you do want to go small diameter then the Easton Axis or Victory RIP TKO are also good but much more expensive.

Bought my first montana preference point

You are right. You can purchase a preference point when you apply and go into the draw with that point. If you do not apply, then you can also buy a preference point later in the year.

    Idaho draw

Absolutely insane that you were 71 and 1800 diamond creek tags were already gone by the time you were up to bat

    2024 Bows?

Exactly - I felt like I would shoot better groups with the Lift. With the extra half inch of brace height, the longer riser, and how ridiculously dead it was compared to anything else I shot. How light it is also feels really nice. I'm planning on having some backpack-style hunts the next couple...

    2024 Bows?

I ordered a Lift 33 yesterday. I shot a bunch of the new bows and was very close to getting a Core SR. That bow was sweet - I only shot it in comfort but got similar speeds to the Lift in a much smoother draw cycle. That thing drew like butter.

    Spotting Scope Size Recomendation

I just picked up a Swaro ATC 17-40x56 as my first nice optic and absolutely love that thing. I pretty much backpack hunt exclusively so the smaller weight/profile are important to me and the glass is very good. However, if you're looking for something more all around a 65mm might be the way to...
