I bought a 419 Sidewinder for my 300 WM and it actually made it enjoyable to shoot. I would say similar recoil to a .243. While the noise behind the rifle is very tolerable, if you shoot at a busy range the people next to you will hate your guts. The side blast concussion is aweful. The...
I’ve been a long range .308 guy for a long time and bought a 6.5 CM a month ago. Working up some loads for the 6.5 now. Norma is great ammo. Make sure to save the brass and give it to someone that reloads.
Getting ready to pull the trigger on a higher-end HD Spotting Scope. Trying to decide between 27-60x 85mm and 22-48x 65mm. I'm in Arizona and hunt in the western states everything from coyotes to elk. I keep hearing things like overpowered so I don't want to overspend if I shouldn't. Any input...
Just picked up 1000 70gr Bergers at a yard sale super cheap. I usually load 75 gr Hornady bthp match and 75 Sierra Matchkings for predators. I haven’t been able to find any successfully worked up load data for this bullet. I have a pretty good stock of H335, Ramshot Tac and AR comp. Any...
I’m sold on the Accubonds for my rifle. I developed super accurate loads using H4831. This cartridge and my rifle really like the powder. With the 200 gr Accubonds I use 70gr H4831. They shoot very tight groups. I haven’t shot them through a chrono, but it’s at the upper end of the load...
The barrel life of .308 is unbelievable! I’ve been shooting .308 for 35 years. Shot my M1A competitively for over a decade. Pulled it out a couple months ago and it still groups 1 MOA. Many of the newer cartridges shoot flatter and buck the wind better, but get ready to change some barrels...
FNG from Arizona. Hunter of just about everything I can eat (when I can get drawn). Enthusiast of all things ballistics; rifles, pistols, cartridges, reloading, and shooting. Looking forward to asking questions, reading the content and learning from everyone. Also happy to talk about...
I have a Sako 270 Win and have worked up the following load for 150 gr Nosler Partitions. The Nosler's overall length is 1.250. It looks like the A-frame is 1.230. Pretty similar. I have tried a number of powders through the years for 270 Win and I keep coming back to H4831. It just works...
I finally bought a 6.5 Creedmore. I've been a precision reloader for years .308, 300wm, .223, and 270 win.
Looking for recommendations for Dies, Primers, Powder, Bullets.
I've heard great things about the Berger 130 gr VLD Hunting Bullets and the Berger 140 gr Elite Hunters. Anyone have any...
I got a great deal on some 180gr Accubonds a few years ago and now I'm sold on their accuracy. The following load is 1 moa or under consistently:
180 Gr Accubonds, 73.0 gr H4831, Federal 215 Primers, Norma Brass. COL 3.330.
This is just shy of max load so starting at 69 grains would be good...
I've been loading 5.56/223 for over 30 years. I really like RCBS Matchmaster Dies for saving your fingers with small projectiles. The seating die has an open window in the top that you just drop the projectile instead of setting each one on the case neck individually. I hope this helps!
