    big coyotes

47.3# in central PA was my biggest. Friend just shot 49.6# this past weekend. I'd say we avg 37-40# dogs.

What’s everyone’s go to shooting rest?

I've been running an Innorel rt90c with the RRS Anvil but recently switched to the RRS leveling base. Not sure if you've tried a leveling base but definitely better for panning or follow up shots. Always felt the Anvil locked down good, was quick to move but if you open the throw lever 1/4" too...

What’s everyone’s go to shooting rest?

Day hunting I use a swagger bipod but most of my hunting is done at night. Innorel RT90C tripod with RRS Anvil 30 head but switching to the RRS TA-2U leveling base once it delivers tomorrow.

    Lithium Ion for a FoxPro?

Looks like the Foxpro site shows the same lithium battery for a lot of their models. I run the same lithium battery I had in my shockwave in my x24, banshee being the same battery. There is no % indicator, just a standard 120vac wall charger with a red/green light. I do charge my call after...

    Best Commuter Car

I drive a 2003 tdi 5 speed to work. The worst tank has been 48mpg since buying in 2014, normally avg 54-55. Sad part is the body will probably rust out before the motor ever quits. If I were too replace it I would probably look for a Civic.

Turkey hunting with a 3 year old

Great story! My 5yr old has gone daytime predator hunting with me a few times and keeps bugging to go out at night. I really need to buy another thermal scanner to keep him interested for night time hunting. Looking forward to when both boys (3&5) start hunting with me.

    What ATV should I buy?

I'll agree that Suzuki KQs have been great. My Father in law & Brother in law have 2015 & 2016 KQ 750s, both with over 7k miles and no issues other than the occasional wear and tear items. Wifes cousin has a 2016 KQ 750 as well with no issues. I bought a 2019 KQ750 and only have 1400 miles on it...

    Tough coyote or bad ammo?

I am amazed sometimes how tough coyotes are. I use to shoot a bolt 6cm and had good luck with dropping them with one shot where they stood but switched to 22 nosler in AR for follow up/doubles. I had issues with 52gr and runners but switched to 55 nbt's with much better results. Of the 17 shot...

How much hunting does your wife let you get by with?

I have two boys (3 & 5) and I wouldn't say having kids or my wife have limited the amount of time I hunt but I have changed what I hunt for due to my passion and ease on the family life. I was in the Navy from 2013-2019 and didn't have much time to hunt/fish but when I came home I still coyote...

What caliber do you like for predator/ varmint hunting?

What gr are you shooting? Friend is running 6arc. I like a 6mm but also like a flat round for night hunting.

What caliber do you like for predator/ varmint hunting?

About 6 months ago moved from a 6cm bolt to 22nosler AR which I've been happy with for follow up shots. Debating building a 22cm in 1:9 to shoot 60gr nbts and use for coyotes/ground hogs.

AR vs Bolt Action for Coyotes?

My AR is lighter than my bolt gun. I think the accuracy is true in some part. I've had far more sub 1/2 moa bolt guns than sub moa ARs. Maybe its more of a mind set change in I have 9 more follow up rounds with the AR vs having to rack another round with a bolt gun.

    Tripod for thermal

I run an Innorel rt90c which I am extremely happy with but the best money spent was on the RRS anvil 30. Almost bought the leveling head but at the time they were only 20* I believe, now 30* is available. Either way, the RRS equipment is top notch and for hunting I think a cheaper tripod would...

Thermal hunters, scanner or weapon mounted first?

I think if I had to scan with a gun mounted optic only I would just wifi the scope image to my phone for viewing. This would limit movement/noise by just having to swing the gun side to side as opposed to your entire body.

AR vs Bolt Action for Coyotes?

I was always a bolt guy due to the accuracy, and still prefer a bolt for daytime shooting. I ran 6mm cm mainly but recently switched to an AR in 22nosler this past summer for night hunting. Shooting 52gr eldm's at 3650fps and I will say I will not go back to a bolt gun in the dark. Running...

AGM Taipan vs. other AGM models

Highly recommend the AGM Fuzion LRF tm35-640. I was debating upgrading my Super Hogster next summer to a 640 w/LRF but having the LRF in the scanner is sufficient. For the ~$2900 price of the Fuzion its well worth it and above others in its price range. Maybe if I wasn't using a flat shooting...

Thermal hunters, scanner or weapon mounted first?

I bought both at the same time but agree with the posts above, if I were to buy just one it would be a good scanner. 95% of time is using the scanner and I have hunted with a few who use a red light still to shoot. We would just use my scanner until they got well within shooting range and when...

Long time lurker and decided to join in on some conversation. Mainly in to night time predator hunting but also enjoy long range shooting.

AGM Taipan vs. other AGM models

I have no experience with the micro or taipan -256 but I currently have a Taipan 19-384. Really will depend how far you want to identify animals. With the 19-384 I feel plenty comfortable identifying 3-400 yards sometimes based off body language. Can be difficult to distinguish between a...
