My old load was 42.5 of IMR 4064 under 168gr SMK. Worked in multiple rifles.
The 42.5 to 43.5 load range for Varget should also yield a stable load that isn't near max pressure.
I use 15x56 Swaro SLC's, and they do everything I need them to do for PRS and spotting impacts out to 1200 yards or so.
With optics, recommend you buy once and cry once.
Good thread.
I'm 39, and live in Northern VA. Having a hard time finding committed hunting partners myself. I am finally at the place in life where financially I can do a big hunt once every other year or so.
Haven't been out west yet, but that's next on my list. I definitely want to do 5 or...
They do, and that still doesn't guarantee no failure.
I ran a very well known Alpha optic (over $3000 optic) on my PRS gun for 2 seasons. Never had an issue at all for any match or practice session.
I moved the scope over to my 300 RUM for a hunt this fall, and within 50 rounds the scope had a...
178gr ELDx Hornaday Precision Hunter ammo has killed many deer, and 2 moose in the last 6 years. My shorty 20in .308 loves the ammo. 1/2 MOA groups with it.
My older Rem 700 PSS hates the ammo though, groups are an 1.5 or so at 100 yards. With Sierra's the gun usually shoots 3/4 MOA.
My oldest daughter has gone with me a couple times, and wants to go with me this year, she's 17. My 16 yr old daughter loves to fish, and likes coming with me hunting too. She doesn't like the sound of guns, so doesn't shoot though.
Doubt either of them will hunt much on their own, but I think...
I ordered a bunch of stuff from 32 degrees for their latest sale, and bought the ultra-light down puffy. For $40, I figured it was worth a try. First impression: doesn't seem overly stuffed full of fill, but it felt plenty warm enough when I tried it on. I got the 2xl, and it's pretty roomy...
Do like adding up facts, and simply stating: this happened? Or, do you like to understand the why of what happened, and use that knowledge to help future decisions?
If the first, be an accountant. If you're more the 2nd type, then Finance or FP&A is a good path
I work in Corporate Finance and...
I had some dumb hunters shoot my house last year. Opening day of firearms season in VA. I hunted til about 9am, came home, and was talking to my Dad on the phone about the morning. Heard a bang, and it sounded really close. I looked out the window (our house is close to the top of a big hill...
32 degrees is a brand I really like (Costco carries some of their stuff). They came out with some new jackets this year.
The ultralight Down fill packable puffy looks like a good deal at $40 with current sale...
