I go up every 3-4 years since 96, went last year and have it on the books for next year.... can't believe how many NR are going these days, WAY more than even 5 years ago.... for all the 1st timers... good luck and enjoy!
I have killed some rutty and post rut bucks (muley) that were terrible, the trick is getting rid of ALL the fat, after that, it's not so bad.... huge difference between sept and November bucks also.
And I know how to take care of the meat....
For close in timber hunting I use an AR10 in .308 with a swaro 1-6 on top... killed a couple bucks under 30yds that were on the move (blown out), nothing faster for follow up shots... also run a suppressor,
For me it's the perfect set up close and personal... :)
This really surprises me... I never really paid attention to everyone else's range... I'm shooting #4 Fed premium turkey out of an old 870 and last year killed one at 57yds last year and this year have already taken one at 52yds.... doesn't seem odd to me... never had a problem, pattern and...
I can't say about the Tikka... have not played with one..
I have been using a BMR for NRL22 and have been VERY happy with it... shoots incredible with Lapua CenterX and feels good, decent trigger and is balanced... would like to get a Tikka, just because :)... but for the price, the BMR is great!
This!! 100%-- I keep telling everyone... We might not care or "it really won't effect me" because we already have our guns, magazines, ect... but to the next generation... this will be business as usual... the "new normal"
This is going to affect our kids more than us... thats how they win.
I actually pee in my front yard and don't really care if anyone sees me... I was here 1st, everyone moved in
5 minutes from Olympia on a pretty busy road.... boy the old lady gets pissed :)
I don't believe that one made it through... it wasn't heard.
The anti's are playing the long game... doesn't matter if they "wouldn't know", or if you could just "drive to Idaho"... a lot of people aren't going to go along with the law, but it is just another cut to our freedom... by the next...
Haven't you ever heard that what you put out on the internet is there forever??
There is no way in hell I am going to put a number on what it costs for my way of life.. :)
I have spent a bunch of time in AK, but the wife hadn't so last year for our 30th, we rented a motorhome in Anchorage for 10 days and headed out.... went all over the place, only stayed 2 nights in one place, Denali.
Fishing, Glacier tour, flight seeing, National Park.... we kept pretty busy.
I'm in your situation... were a 14, the Kenetreks are loose in the heel and couldn't wear them. Right now I am wearing Lowas and HanWags... not sure of the models right off... I am also using sheepfeet insoles. Boots in our sizes don't come easy.. if a company does make them, no one carries...
