    Benchmade Knives

That was posted several days ago. Benchmade already said the contributions were to grease the wheels to get rid of obsolete federal interstate knife transport laws. Looks like most of the donations were for the democratic cosponsors of the new bill. And as far as this helping Benchmade’s...

    Kodiak Goat Draw Results

    473. Still looking at how I want to get in there. I could take the obvious route of fly into terror lake, there’s also a couple smaller lakes, or I could catch a boat to the hydroelectric road and hike in and out hunting deer along the way back. Are the bears up high that time of year? I’m...

    My First Alaskan Moose Trip

Man when I saw that first moose pic I thought mid 40s at best, then when the transporter said he’d shoot, I knew where your story was going. In your defense, what should have been a knowledgeable AK outdoorsman, gave you some shit advise. That sucks, but I guarantee you still had a great time...

    Kodiak Goat Draw Results

Anyone get a good Kodiak goat draw? I’ll be hunting Terror Lake in early October this year.

    Benchmade Knives

I posted in the previous thread that I was disappointed/confused that Benchmade would donate to anti-2A politicians. Like I’d hoped, there was a reason for their donations. It looks like the political donations were to grease the wheels on the “Interstate Transport Act” that would ease...

    Benchmade. Thoughts?

The problem for a lot of folks, me included, is what was found after this blew up, not the initial outrage. Benchmade and the owner’s political donations are nearly 100% donated to Democrats that have voted against gun rights for many years. I have been a huge Benchmade fan for about 15...

    2017’s Alaska Dall Loadout

I’m a huge fan of the 3/4 length leg insulation of the Kenai. Easy to get to get and off without removing boots or pants, which is very convenient, and makes them lighter as well. I didn’t use them, and only used the peloton 3/4 in the morning. They made a nice pillow when they were packed in...

    2017’s Alaska Dall Loadout

The trailshot was nice because it’s light and convenient. I kept it in one of my pack’s hip pockets and could use it as a straw when I passed a stream. The only downside was it’s a little awkward to fill bottles with, hard to explain, but just take it out on a test run and you’ll understand. You...

    2017’s Alaska Dall Loadout

I said I’d do this in my “Tok Sheep Success” thread, but forgot all about it until someone reminded me the other day. Feel free to ask any questions about the gear. I didn’t really have any gear “failures” and would recommend everything on this list. I think the weight of everything I wasn’t...

    Tok Sheep Success

Dang I got busy and forgot all about that. I’ll have to do that soon before I forget.

    Rifle cases and flying

Pelican/Storm and SKB are the best, but they aren't cheap. For about half the price, the Plano All-weather series is very nice. I just picked up a 52" double rifle version for $110 from Academy Sports in Dallas after my dad gave me a couple rifles while I was visiting. I needed something to fly...

    SO Tipi ... which one?

Good rule of thumb with any tent/Tipi is to cut the number in half unless you want to get intimate. You won't be able to have 3 plus gear and stove in a 4-man.

    Tok Sheep Success

I was out for 7 days. This day and the day I packed in were the only nice ones.

    Tape on muzzle anyone?

I always use electrical tape and put a couple extra wraps an inch down so I can reseal the muzzle after I fire it.

Any excitement for the new SilencerCo Maxim 50?

I like it. Not only does it reduce the noise, it reduces the smoke significantly as well. If I was in the market for a muzzleloader (maybe in the future) I'd give it a serious look. I'm a fan of supressors on rifles, why not muzzleloaders?

    Glock 20

You can safely and reliably shoot 40 with the factory 10mm barrel. I've shot tons like that. Heck I shot USPSA matches with it until I got an aftermarket barrel for shooting cast lead.

WTB tent with stove, need help!

IMHO, the medium stove is what you need with the Sawtooth. The medium makes plenty of heat (almost too much sometimes) and its small enough to maneuver around in the front of the tent. I've never used the large though, so maybe someone that has can comment about it.

    Glock 20

The dual spring makes it a little more of a pain to change recoil springs if you ever wanted to practice or plink with 40sw, otherwise it doesn't really matter either way. If the gen 4 felt better, you probably were looking at the gen 3 standard (non-SF) version. Look for the "SF" version, it...
