Those are Talley steel split ring lows on Talley bases. I like this set up a lot but am actually debating on selling it to get to a longer barreled 375 or 416
300 prc would be an easy button for you wants as would the .30 Nosler. Along with your 6.5 CM you would have all reasonable bases covered. I’m not a fan of either rifle you listed for a couple of reasons and would see if you could find a seekins havak for the PRC or the new Nosler model 21 in...
As said probably 10 times above, brake cleaner out of the box and then wipe the interior with a light coat of oil and wipe off any excess. Outside gets wiped with corrosion-x.
Every so often I will pull out the dies I am actually using and repeat the process just to be sure no junk or excess...
For elk at LR intend to lean to a .30. So my suggestion would be to find a rifle you like, find the load it likes and order a case of ammo. If your reloading I really like what my new 300 Norma Improved is showing me. Yes the cases need fire formed but in my rifle factory 300 Norma 230’s are...
A pair of 180 eld-m’s launched at 3200 fps from a 28 Nosler and recovered from mule deer. Left one was shot at something like 535 yds, right one was 705 yds.
I had a rifle built on a GRB action and it was very nice but wouldn’t be my choice in a budget custom action. I feel that the TL technologies action offers better fit and finish and more features for less. I also have heard that Mac Brothers should have their Evo action in long action...
Leica Ultravid 3.5-10x42, has leicaplex (duplex) reticle. In great condition with only 1 tiny ding on the turret cap finish and super light ring marks. Glass is pristine and always had the BC caps on it.
Came on a rifle I bought a few years ago and now just sits in my safe

I’ve committed to buying a 300 Norma Improved and am curious what others have settled on for loads. Curious as to powder, bullet, velocity, barrel length and twist if possible.
Run a pin drill into the Berger tips to make sure they aren’t clogged and go kill stuff. I’ve had erratic performance with the LR Accubond. I also would discount the 162 eld-x at 280 ai velocities as the extra velocity likely offsets the increased mass of the 175’s at the ranges your discussing.
I’m still on the fence about selling this one but have been leaning towards getting back in the big .30 game.
Alamo Precision built 28 Nosler.
-Alamo action (made by TL technologies)
- 26" Bartlein sendero fluted 1:8 with a Live Oak Accuracy Delta brake,
- APA RTG m5 metal,
