Outer Layer for Mountain Goat hunt

I would recommend either spending the bulk in -a solid down puffy ($300-$400),, Stone Glacier Grumman, Western Mountaineering or Feathered Friends OR -Decent puffy ($100-$200) Forclaz Decathlon, First lite Uncompaghre, AND pair it with a decent rain/snow shell like an OR Forray ($150)

I hunt in either Lacrosse rubber or my stiff hiking boots. When you are leaning on the edge of a metal platform for hours, a thin sole shoe will be incredibly painful. I once hunted in my Xtratuf ankle boots and was miserable. Something maybe worth trying is a stiff insert like a superfeet...

Tarp - Argali vs Seek Outside

Maybe the $45 is gas money for the slow boat from China? All kidding aside, I really don't like it when companies ship stuff overseas and the customer doesn't see the value from it. Oh well, its a free market!

    Fire starting

Can’t remember where I saw it, but last year took my standard Vaseline/cotton balls, and dipped them in melted paraffin wax, burns twice as long, higher flame, and added waterproofing. **Note: I only dipped the bottom half, don't submerge the whole thing.

    The Gear List Thread

Sorry for pulling up an old post, but just noticed you had the MLD Spirit 48, I've been looking at it as a solution to condensation build up on my WM Badger during late season hunts. Was that the reason you got it in the first place, and if so has it worked to manage that?
