Following this one. I went duck hunting in the am and determined I need to get some wadersfor that. Then I went quail hunting after that and decided i need an upland pant. Both hunts in west texas. My current pants are not going to hold up to briars, mesquite, cactus...its very clear that I need...
LEM did away with that dual grind set up that necked the #32 down to a 22. I ordered the new adapter that is grinder size/plate specific now. That's what ultimately led me to pulling the trigger on the new set up this year. It should be here in a few days.
I have run a #8 for years and it does ok. With that said....the second grind takes a while and many times I wish I had bought a bigger grinder. Over thanksgiving I splurged and bought the LEM #32 with a dual grind adapter. I think if i had bought the #22 initially that would have been a better...
Congrats to everyone so far! This has become my favorite series/posting topic to follow. Thanks to rokslide and the sponsors for THIS!! Please continue to do this every year. I know yall do a lot of different contests like this, but the YOUTH one is at the TOP!
I went a slightly different route but am hoping for the same result. I was going to go with the Meat yoru maker brand while on sale, but happened to jump on the LEM Site to see what they had going. They now make an adapter for the #32 1.5 hp grinder to turn it into a dual grind set up. Its not...
Eventually I will have to the Granfors small forest axe. But for now...like others have mentioned, I have a fiskars mounted full time on my truck roof rack. It goes where I go, and that handle can stay out in the sun, rain, etc and doesn't swell, shrink, or crack as fast as the wood would...
Bringing this one back to the top. Looking at dog vests and doing the research tonight for our 80 pound chocolate lab "Gunner". He's been out dove hunting, but now its time for waterfowl, upland quail, and Crane hunting. I bought the rex specs tonight, and have been researching vests. Going to...
Following. I learned of the little diesel heaters over the summer and I also have a 14 foot enclosed trailer. My thought is same as others......nice to have an addition heat source for a late season trip.
It was mentioned above, but for grinding deer burger, I do NOT add pork fat, pork trimmings etc. My reasoning is that we prefer burgers done to about "Medium". So instead of pork we add 70/30 ground beef to ours, and usually also add a package of bacon. That's ups the fat levels and makes some...
Well yall....i did a thing. Decided to pull the trigger over at the LEM website. I ended up ordering the #32 LEM grinder unit with the 1.5 horse motor. I also added their "dual grind adapter" for the #32, and the 2" meat tube.
This should (in theory) do a couple of things for me to save time...
Im really leaning towards a #22 dual grind grinder. I've been running a #8 single grinder for many years. I kinda wish I took advantage of the sale Meat your Maker ran over thanksgiving now. I just ground 25 pounds of wild hog/pork butt into sausage tonight using my my grinder. The first run...
I am considering a Dual Grind unit s well. Look forward to hearing what others have to say after using one. I like making a lot of sausage from Wild hogs, and its always a rough grind followed by a second grind to get everything finished off, mixed, etc.
FYI...the Meat your Maker site has a 30...
How are you liking that topper? I think that topper and a "decked system" in the bed would be ideal in a mega cab for a hunting rig. I wont do any crazy off roading, but offers tons of interior room for coolers, camp and recovery gear, etc.
Like others have said , drop the money on the LIthiums and be done with it. Less headaches, better performance and I havent had a single one leak. Not sure if they can or not, but for the other reasons mentioned they are worth it. They last way longer in the cold too. I live in Texas and have a...
And its Dove Poppers for dinner tonight!! Didnt have time to get to it over the weekend. Kept getting in too late, so they got cleaned and put in the fridge till now. Oh yeah!!
I got close to a limit this morning. Got 12 (15 is limit). My Chocolate Lab gunner was a savage today!! Did real well and didnt eat any birds. we have been out every morning and evening since the opener and he is doing better now. Even chased down a few cripples and brought them back alive which...
