I have used Powerstep Pinnacles in the past. They're extremely close to the design of stock Merrell Moab insoles just better padding and stiffer.
They have extremely high arch support though.
Switched from Vortex DBT 4-16 to Nightforce SHV F1 4-14 mil
Bought an OCL Polonium 30 (still in jail)
got rid of my heavy Kelty Mistral pad for a Big Agnes Rapide SL
Ordered a whole mess of LS Wild ultralight shooting bags
and then drew ZERO tags. Pray for me.
What I’ve read is that they used to have IMR4895 listed for reduced loads, but after switching how they measure pressure, they dropped it because the burn rate at 60% max was actually a little squirrelly and pressure wasn’t consistent.
Haven't done it, but Speer has load data as low as 25 grains of IMR 4198 (Hodgdon says it's the same as H4198 and they make both, so I believe them) for a 125 gr bullet.
2,000-2,200 fps listed at 25-29 grains. I would be super comfortable trying 32-34 grains with a 130 but I'm no expert.
From Applied Ballistics:
"Hello,
The BC we provide is the averaged BC from 3000+ fps down to below 1500fps. The BC we provide is the tested value from the bullets we purchased at a retailer than tested in our laboratory. What you see is the performance of the bullets we had.
Thank You"

Trying to decide which solver to use.
I’ve been messing with GeoBallistics and AB the most because they both have profiles for this bullet.
GB seems to just list mfg BCs though. I want to use AB since they actually test the bullets but obviously need to true my dope either way because I don’t...
I sent them (AB) an email to try to get some more info on their number.
I'm just super suspicious that they might have either a typo or used a version or bullet that is different that what Federal is using now.
My evidence is as follows;
Flat base soft point bullets from everybody are...
Man I hope that's a typo on their end.
Hornady has their 180 interlock listed as .452 G1 and the Rem Core-Lokt with a flat base is listed at .383.
The Fusion 180 is a boat tail and looks a little more slick than the Hornady bullet so hopefully it's at least on par with that...
So I'm pretty new to long range shooting in general and naturally am now knee deep in ballistic solvers trying to figure out how to put good data in so I can get good data out. I'm going to shoot NRL Hunter in West Texas at the end of May, so trying to get my head on straight before then.
The...
Check out the Rearden Mfg. muzzle devices. Same system as the Q stuff but some more practical options for brakes, flash hiders, etc.
I have their Mini on my hunting rifle.
Midway had a browning branded sun hoodie for like $18 recently that I like. I’m a sucker for duck camo.
Wrangler ATG (or whatever the Walmart version is called) pants for $28 are hard to beat. Not sure about the thigh pockets off the top of my head but the main pockets are mesh and fairly...
You can even get factory powderpuff loads for whitetails.
Hornady has 125s at ~2650fps that (on paper) should be pretty dead-on with the same zero as the heavy 180 grainers inside 200 yards or so.
If you're not a handloader the 30-06 is a very strong option.
Do you have to have a NRL membership to shoot skills?
I signed up for the Texas shoot but the box for member number I just left blank. Will I get kicked out?
