I was pretty ecstatic about my 8lbs CA Ridgeline in 30, 20 inch pipe, talleys, vx6 2-12. Super light and handy in the mountains. Easy to carry on my ram hunt in Alaska and bang flopped a bull elk at 400 yards last November.
That said, it's been replaced by a nosler m48 Liberty 300wsm, 24 inch...
haha! Feet are in excellent shape. Total of 6 toenails lost (the final four came out pool side in Mexico - my wife was "proud" as I showed them off). They're about 75% grown back and giving me no trouble, I hunted the Oregon coast 1st elk season in November and everything went swimmingly, but...
Nosler M48 Liberty, 300 wsm - courtesy of their black friday sale a few weeks back and quick drive over the mountain to Bend.
PacNor barrel 24 inch magnum contour, Bell & Carlson stock. Talley lightweights, low.
I spent $1,245 out the door with Talley's and my background check.
I had on...
I handled one at the nosler factory when I was buying my m48 Liberty 300 wsm last week.
Initial impressions: light weight (carbon fiber stock, skinny magnum profile barrel). Otherwise built off the same m48 action as their others. So far, I have no issues to report after the first 30 rounds...
I have a 20 inch 308 CA Ridgline shooting factory Hornady eldx cartridges. Bang flopped a bull at 409 yards one week ago today.
It is a splendid dream to carry!
Back in the world from a wild elk hunt which was preceded by a week in the sun south of the border with wife. She "loved" that my remaining toe nails came off at the pool while drinking fruity beverages and then I proceeded to show off my trophy's to those nearby with whom we'd been chatting...
I have an xbolt medallion in 300wsm. I've only got a few rounds through it but my initial impression is that it's quite an excellent rifle. Unfortunately I bought the wood/blued example on impulse and it's just too nice for my Oregon coast & Alaska hunting so it's up for sale.
Trigger is...
Anyone have one? What's the good, bad, ugly? I've been getting all steamed up over one in 308 but can't seem to find any info on them other than magazine type reviews.
I have about 450 rounds through my Ridgeline in 308 with 20 inch barrel. It's one of the older receivers that uses savage 10/110 mounts instead of remington 700 mounts. shoots .75 - .85 moa with factory federal premium 165 grain trophy bonded tips out to 550 (furthest I've shot with it)...
Ahhhhhhh Moose camp... It's flat, there's some trees and water is 20 feet away. Some dry weather too. It was noon or thereabouts when I came to a screeching halt bloody and defeated and skidding into camp. Agent Golf Ball & Meat Hook had been there 20-30 minutes or so they said, probably...
That tape is straight out of Los Alamos, apparently the aliens who provided the technology like to hunt rams too!
Otherwise, my dogs are a healing mass of crusty blisters, missing toe nails (the 3rd is about to free itself, my 4 year old daughter wants me to let her pull it the rest of the way...
Love my akto. Perfect little tent especially in nasty weather. Worth every penny.
But, it serves the purpose of adequate or better light weight compact shelter that will withstand nasty weather. I won't be getting rid of it, and in fact may be adding a larger Hilleberg to my neighborhood.
Boots - cheap - you happy - updated!
Going up half size so these must go. Both have laces, Zamberlans have OEM insoles, Lowa's have superfeet insoles. Both 11.5 size. No imperfections on the inside linings/material.
Lowa GTX, my main boot for last three seasons. Probably have 100 + miles...
