The Nightforce TS 82 is just a rebranded Meopta Meostar S2. Here's a link to a comparison:

I bought a Viper HD spotting scope after a lot of research and loved it...
Until I looked through my Father-in-law's ATS Hd Swaro. Then I sold the Viper for a huge loss.
I appreciate the depth of info on a scope's ability to maintain zero that Formidilosus has given us. Do I believe that his methods teeter more toward abuse than use? Absolutely. But, these threads are helping the members make more informed decisions when it comes to purchasing optics.

I'd say it depends on the year. I used the Kenai on a Nov deer hunt this year and it was perfect. I'd probably want a down layer if there was 2' of snow the ground.
I lucked out and was 488. The system crapped out and wouldn't allow me to put a tag in my cart. Second year in a row that I won't be hunting elk in Idaho.
My daughter will be old enough to hunt in 2023 and I don't know how I'm going to buy her and me a tag for the same unit.
I hope that...
It would almost be easier for all non-resident tags to go to a draw. I know I'll take some flak for that but you could apply as a group in hopes that all of you would draw and be able to hunt together.

I had to use my backup rifle this year on my deer hunt. My 300 had a Vortex (I know, I know) HST on it but it crapped out on me when I was confirming zero the night before the hunt.
I have an Interarms Mark 10 that was used by a guide in Alaska for several years. At this point the rifle has spent at least 6 months in the bush and still looks great.
Sometimes we forget that people used to take a wood stocked Mauser on expeditions that lasted months.
Grab an old Interarms...
I really like the Kuiu flexfix delta blaze hat. I wear mine on my daily runs and it looks like I've taken it to Mars and back.
I bought a blaze orange down puffy from Eddie Bauer that I throw on when I stop to glass.
The only piece I'm missing is a technical vest in blaze. I just use the cheap...
I saw an older couple drive a sxs in to an area 2 miles from the trailhead. They didn't bother me as much as their adult daughter who was sitting in the back with her gun slung across her lap. I know there are situations where disabled hunters can drive on four wheeler trails but a grown woman...
