We use almost all Ameristep or Barronett Hub blinds. Pretty close to created equal, although I think some models of the Barronett have quite a bit more room. And I can't remember the exact model but I always reach for the Barronett with the zipperless door over the others. IMO that's the most...
I would echo most of the above. SD is really cool. Badlands, Rushmore, Custer Park, and Spearfish Canyon. However, your end goal is Montana. Once you get there you will see just as much cool shit as you would have if you stopped along the way. IMO anyway.
Yes and no. I'm typically between an XL and XXL, so the 2X works. But that is true about the sleeves. I however have no issue with the puffy underneath. If I don't wear the puffy, it's typically a merino base layer and the FL Furnace 1/4 zip.
I second the above. I wasn't a huge fan of the Fanatic either and just layer my Stratus. I wear a puffy underneath when it gets that cold and haven't had an issue with noise.
I do however climb into a Heater Body Suit for gun season in Upper Michigan.
Winter before last I was coming home from ice fishing 40 minutes away with the GF. Had the trailer on with snowmobile and my Otter Lodge Pro flip over ice shack. Inside shack was rod locker with half dozen custom ice rods, all tackle, my Garmin EchoMap, ION auger and other misc. supplies. Got...
I feel your pain man. I’ve had to move stands a half dozen times already because of our wolf problem in the Yoop. And this is strictly baiting sweets, confectionery.
It’s outta hand!
I'm in the U.P and been having good luck with Granola, Sugar Cones and pastries. I've tried pouring syrups or grease over the top, but have noticed Buck Jam works well. Maybe something with the minerals they are seeking. I'll also add in corn and oats to contrast the sweets. Now If I could just...
Good choice. I have an 04 and it is my hunting rig. I also have a Tundra, and that rarely see's the bush. Just get yourself a hitch carrier and that eliminates the majority of the space issues. Coolers, gas cans, harvests, etc. I also pull the backseat once fall rolls around. And I've only done...
The early Aug. back to school dates seem as crazy to me as the early Aug. deer opener dates.
Day after Labor Day here, and Oct. 1st for "early" archery.
I'll play. Started off the season with a trip to Montana for Elk. Tag soup. Followed up with a two year quest that ended on 11/16. This years season starts 9/6 for black bear.
I had these in the outhouse at hunting camp, for cleaning use, not cleaning yourself use and had a buddy come out and it didn't take long to know what happened. He didn't find it nearly as funny as I did!
Based off your list, I would immediately scratch the Jeep Cherokee and Ford Escape from experience. GF currently drives a Cherokee, 2019 SUV version. Constant issues. Sway bar links, control arms, etc. Not knocking Jeep, I have a Wrangler as a hunting rig and its been great. Other than limited...
I wouldn’t hesitate to DIY. Especially with a first season tag. You have the advantage of starting a week ahead of the dogs. If you can get up here Labor Day weekend and get as many bait sites going as you can, you should be in good shape. Utilize cameras if possible and once you have a worthy...
