I would think that combo would be in your favor. I've had good luck with Salty's Pompano Rigs. I use the double drop with sand fleas and fish bites. One corner of my garage is filled with ice fishing gear, and the other is all the random surf fishing crap I start ordering this time of year for...
I've been pretty impressed in the features the Halo has to offer so far. I have the Gen 3 and only about a months use, but does everything( and then some) that its needed to do. I'll probably still use the Garmin Alpha for hunting, but the Halo has been great for everyday use. Battery life is...
I can't help with that area, but been going to Destin for past 5 years or so. Always targeting the Pomp run March-May. Sounded like the cool Spring held things up a bit later last year. We had good fishing last week in April. Lots of Pomps, few Drums, and plenty of junk fish. (Hardtails, Lady...
I used the cheaper Pet Safe model when mine was younger. Like you stated, limited to the circle boundry wasn't ideal. It still did the job however, and she quickly learned her boundaries and the collar hasn't been needed since. I recently picked up the Halo collar for my sons lab. Pretty...
Wish I had a 350" Bull mount to find out!;) Interesting though, as my 9yr old GSP could care less about whitetail/bear mounts, but my sons younger lab loses her shit when she sees a new one.
Such a shame! We have them in Upper Michigan and with no management their population has exploded quickly. All everyone talks about anymore. I ran a dozen cams this summer/fall and had them on every single cam. They are a problem.
I'm in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so closer to Canada than Detroit:)
It has been unseasonably warm here. No snow on the ground and we had 51 degrees yesterday. We typically average 2-300" of snow starting in October and temps should be in the teens right now. Playing hell on the ice...
No experience in IL, although I'd like too. I agree with the above on limited options in OH, although I've seen some dandy bucks. With that said, I won't go back. My interactions in that state never went well. Assuming it was the Michigan plates:rolleyes:
I hate when these threads end worse than Yellowstone and leave you hanging....
Last seen Feb. of 2022. I'd agree with Troutbum, never to be heard from again lol
Not far from you in the UP of Michigan. We echo all of the sentiments above. We're into the second week of rifle now, and all indications are on track for our harvest to be down around 30% or more. My buddy and I run cams year round, and still managed to find some decent deer but the numbers are...
