That's has been an amazing part of living here, I've thrown around 30mi down on these boots this season alone. I've gotten to see so many different types of land, and had to learn to hunt them. I put in the effort for sure this year and am looking forward to taking that knowledge into different...
I'm using Gaia for a map currently.
It is a huge area but I'm restricted to being on or within 1mi of private ag land so that makes finding an area MUCH harder!
That's what I've heard, the lack of weather has really made the hunt this year bad. I wish I had a B tag because I have zero problem...
Off some recommendations I have decided to try and fill my elk tag Saturday morning!
I started a new thread in the elk section so hopefully I can glean a little more knowledge before I head out!

I haven't had a chance yet, between my new job and my wife's photography I haven't had a free weekend. I am really hoping I can sneak a morning or two in this rifle season but only time will tell.
I'm shooting for a morning hunt next Sunday and that will be my last till rifle season. This new job and rugby have me pretty solidly booked up bit I'd be down for a beer soon to meet up!
This is such good advice. I found so many more tracks 1.5 miles in then I did 6 miles in so that's where I'm headed this weekend! Is there any tips for that country? Should I be high or in the valleys?
Thank you for the encouragement, I suppose I will be coming back this weekend with meat and questions or just questions!
I might take you up on that sometime soon! I'll try a few more trips with my binos for now but once rifle comes around that may be very helpful.
Sounds good, I just need to...
