Below is the email that I got from RMEF:
Montana House Bill 677 would prohibit nonprofit organizations (with the exception of a few) from purchasing any land classified as agricultural from willing landowners in the state of Montana. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s ability to complete land...
Its amazing how pro-free market these guys are....when they're campaigning. Guaranteed outfitter tags, landowner sponsored tags, restricting what entities can purchase what, killing access to public lands. They're lining up to the public trust trough and getting ready for a feed.
Its frustrating.
You're right.

This is an op ed by the bill"s sponsor.
"I wish we could legislate them out of existence". So there's the motive.
I honestly couldn't tell you. Embarrassingly enough, I haven't been paying attention to these kind of issues until recently although I've been hunting in MT for almost 20 years as a resident.
It's easy for me to just assign a nefarious motive to this, especially considering the other bills...
Hi again,
HB 677 is in the House Agricultural committee. This bill prevents non-profits from purchasing agricultural lands greater than 80 acres (unless you're a religious entity for example).
RMEF would not be able to do what they do in Montana if this passes.
You can contact the House Ag...
Hi guys/gals,
SB 354 in Montana passed the house and is now back in the Senate.
I'm not much of a legal scholar, my understanding of the bill is as follows.
Prescriptive easements will have until Dec of 2022 to be filed in court. They can only be filed by individuals or government entities (so...
I really like my Pendleton shirts. I got them from Amazon a while ago. If you're not picky on the color pattern you can usually get a "decent" deal on them.
I had one that I wore a couple holes in over a few years of wearing at work (wearing a stupid kydex bat belt all day getting in and out...
I just read this thread and some of the posts make me pretty sad.
I understand the frustration of running into multiple hunters on public land. It sucks, adding accessibility might alleviate it a little, to do that you need political clout, you need numbers for political clout. You also need...
I really like the idea of 2 identical rifles, one chambered in a a low recoiling, cheap cartridge, with a long barrel life (.223) or something, and the other in your more expensive, higher recoiling chambering.
That, being said, your quickly going to get to the point of diminishing returns if...
Has anybody else had issues with stupid slow map download speeds with Gaia?
Between the extremely slow download speeds, the ridiculous file sizes (gigabites for hunting district overlays), and the inability of the app to download in the background I won't be renewing my subscription when it...
That's something only you can answer. Personally, I think that if you're going to bring a "full functional" GPS then why bring the phone. Maybe a GPS watch is the answer for you?
I carry way too much shit as is, and I'm working on trying to pair down the secondary and tertiary stuff as best as...
Backups are always a good thing. I personally would have a backup nav application in case the app shits the bed, something you can just pull a grid from or something with basic offline mapping. I would still carry a map and compass incase the electronics go down.
Put your phone in airplane mode...
Thanks, keep us updated as things go along. I liked the precision version better than the hunter setup when I handled them in the store. This rifle has me very much intrigued. Seems like a TRG but a couple pounds lighter.
I just had LRI spin up a pre-fit for me. Turnaround was right around a month, and they keep you updated through the process. I'm betting they could take care of you no problem.
$2300 shipped.
I bought it used, no box. It has some safe rash. Optically and mechanically its been great, but the reticle just isn't for me.
Not currently looking to trade. Thanks for looking.
