    Hmm, I'll have to try SC8. I have SC7 but rarely use it. I have read that GearMin can be a battery and processing hog and I can see why with all of it's features. If battery life was critical, it would definitely be wise to switch to a more minimalist face for sure.

    ^^^This. Put it on your bino pouch or whatever you'll always have with you. The AGC bino pouches have the nice elastic bands on top that hold an inReach perfectly. Plus, it still gets exposure to the sky for tracking or messages if you need.
