Interesting and good to know since I usually stuff my bow case with clothes and other stuff. I did notice that the firearms check procedure at ANC was a bid different this summer. With my .44 locked in a small case, they did check the whole case and take the foam out or check behind it. Not...
As I just mentioned, it's not worth the risk of time, hassle and money at the airport. Just get as many locks as you can on the case and even bring a couple extra if you have space.
I have flown many times with bows in an SKB case along with "loose" pistols. At that point, the entire case becomes the gun case and must be locked up enough so there is no way to access the firearm. It's better to be safe and just put as many locks on it as you can. Maybe even bring a couple...
Yeah, stairs climbed, altimeter, storm warning and anything else that is a function of the barometer is iffy at best. Just too many variables that can affect the pressure reading. For the stairs climbed in particular, all it is doing is guessing when it sees measured "ascent" while registering...
Hmm, I'll have to try SC8. I have SC7 but rarely use it. I have read that GearMin can be a battery and processing hog and I can see why with all of it's features. If battery life was critical, it would definitely be wise to switch to a more minimalist face for sure.
I don't have any but there might be an legal or illegal immigrant living in my home, it's a safe place after all, that could have perhaps, just maybe, built up a decent collection of fun. Now, I wouldn't say there are that many semi auto "rifles" as many are technically pistols or "firearms"...

Great way to pick up a grinder or vacuum sealer or other meat processing stuff.
^^^This. Put it on your bino pouch or whatever you'll always have with you. The AGC bino pouches have the nice elastic bands on top that hold an inReach perfectly. Plus, it still gets exposure to the sky for tracking or messages if you need.
Yeah, the settings for Ultratrac are in the settings for each activity. So, open Hike and then press and hold the middle button on the left side to open the settings. Then click on Hike Settings. Scroll all the way down to GPS and then choose Ultratrac.
Here's how I have my face setup for...
If weight and space isn't critical, I like the Nemo Fillo as well. If you want the smallest and lightest then the Sea to Summit Aero are great. To me, the Aero is more like sleeping with your head on a balloon. Deflating a bit helps but it's still essentially a balloon. The Fillo, while...
Ok, this has me puzzled. How did you fit a queen mattress in the Cimarron? I've used mine a lot, often with nests. The nests are tight for two sleeping pads but enough room for me and the wife. This is maybe the width of a single mattress. I can't fathom how you'd fit a queen in a Cimarron...
I've had my Fenix 5X (not plus) for a couple years now. Not really sure what to tell you for the watch face. I use the GearMin face daily and never really found a reason to change it for other activities. I guess it depends on what you'd want the face to show you while hunting other than the...
I think it's cool. Looks like it was on fire. Just make up a cool story around it like "the moose came busting out of the brush with one antler on fire and smoke billowing out of his snout. Lucky for me, I had my dad's trusty Bowie knife. After 20 minutes of hand to hoof battle, I stood as...
