    Outfitter Rant

Licensed tag holders on property they have permission for are not "poaching." If there was 13,000 acres next door, it sounds like you could have kept walking and put some distance between them and you. Maybe your mobility is more limited than that? The overall picture sounds like a malfunction...

Can not sight in new accura Mr-x (advice needed)

There was an SWFA 1-4x on the classifieds here for like $275. I think that would make a great muzzleloader scope.

    NRL realism

I'm planning on going to one or two matches near me with the stuff I have and would carry while hunting. I don't really plan to do "well" I just plan to get "better." I'll probably shoot my .223, which isn't allowed for big game in my state. That alone could be deemed "unrealistic."

    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

Have you ever shouldered an M1A? Once upon a time, I had a major hard-on for one. Finally found one of the shelf... That thing had the ergos of a 2x4. Killed that desire for me immediately. They seem sweet on the surface though. If I had th cash to burn, and wanted a .308, the GA Gladius would...

    Roksliders unite!

I think the kids would do well to research the actual laws in place, rather than relying on a police officer who may not know the actual regulation. Or, at a minimum, speak with the local game warden. The landowner should do the same. I live in a state where the water is not owned, but the...

    Family-friendly ski resort…

That's actually a really good suggestion. One of my coworkers went to Banff/Jasper last winter and he said it was stupid cheap compared to skiing here. I'm not sure what the resort name was but it was right there.

    Family-friendly ski resort…

That would be a great way to spend half of your trip stuck in traffic on I-70 and half of the remainder stuck in a lift line. Eldora is kind of a cool little spot.

    Family-friendly ski resort…

If I'm going to a ski resort, it's Steamboat. No decision to be made. It's not cheap but the general lack of crowding beats anything I've experienced on I-70.

Getting that 100lb pack from the ground onto your back

I set the pack up on the ground. Loosen the belt. Sit into the shoulder straps. Roll to my knees, if necessary. Stand up. Shrug the traps up. Cinch the belt. This one wasn't too bad, just as an example.

First time fully guided archery elk trip?

Colorado is the cheap state. Prices that I have seen have basically doubled over the last couple of years. You might find a trespass fee or something for your stated budget.

Mule deer - Merriam Turkey mount

I made this several years ago. It looks a little wonky on the floor, but hangs better on the wall. Just an idea, if you want another way to tie them in together. A euro/deadhead at the base of a tree with the gobbler above could be cool too.
