"rice breast" typically looks like orzo pasta. Upon zooming in, I see yours has a zig-zag to the cysts. I have never seen that before.
No way I'm eating that.
I don't believe I have seen this one on here.
A father and son were elk hunting outside of Meeteetse when they were charged on October 3rd. They both credit the son for having a round in the chamber of his 10mm.
Sarcocystis is what I was thinking of, but my link above is for tapeworm cysts.
Sarcocystis is called "rice breast" in ducks. That's what your meat looks like to me.
The "worst" shows for me are the ones where some fat guy with a fanny pack is passing huge bulls because "it's just not what we're looking for."
I just saw another one from Crispi where they "weren't sure" the bull was a shooter. Private land in northeast Wyoming. They did shoot it but it was a...

I happily shoot raghorns and cows. Every elk is one to be proud of.
@Caseknife It's just the lighting. The only char there is what I did in the plaque.
I shot this bull with a rifle, but for reference, I believe he would also be short of P&Y. I had him at about 255".
FWIW, I would call any young 4, 5, or 6 point bull a "raghorn." Last year, in Wyoming, I saw a 6 point that was proportional but the same beam length as a normal 4 point. I would...

Don't put a warm quarter in a cooler. That will only encourage spoilage.
Let your quarters cool while hanging in fabric bags.
Pre-chill your cooler with ice or put it in a deep freeze.
When it's time to put the chilled quarters in a cooler, keep the fabric bags on and put them in...

I've posted this before but... I think this would make a great slug gun scope. I have one on an AR-10 and wouldn't hesitate to buy another for a similar use.
Has anyone on here ever shot game with Black Hills' 130gr Dual Performance? @Formidilosus
I have about a box of it in my ammo tub, it didn't group for me as well as some others but I have always been intrigued.
It's an open tipped copper but the opening is very prominent with a claimed...
I have thought about adding the 32 for short backpack hunts, with the intention of wearing my puffy jacket and pants in it to reduce bulk in my pack. I have never regretted having the 15.
It can snow anytime in September. If I'm cold and wet, I want to know I have more insulation waiting for me.
