I stopped by Bass Pro Shops on my way home yesterday. This is insanity!

Maybe, but you and I aren't gonna change any of it. So why get your bloodpressure up? control what you can control.

the concept applies across the board. But whatever... Prices go up. If reloading is a significant portion of your budget, maybe don't reload. I don't know many people who suddenly became millionaires when the price of eggs dropped again.

    300 WSM Powder

H4831 is what I settled on. H4350 wouldn't get the bullets where I wanted them in the 180 grain range. Picked up some 200 ELD-X and Partitions and they tightened right up. 64 gr H4831 for the Hornadys 68 gr H4831 for the Partitions

I stopped by Bass Pro Shops on my way home yesterday. This is insanity!

Wow... This disinigrated quickly. Biden and powder prices... Everyone freaking out about an extra 15% for powder. Have you bought a vehicle, milk, or literally anything else in the last 5 years? Both the R and the D flooded the market with free dollars and diluted it. It's basic economics...

WTB Fuel #2 cams & possibly lighter limbs

My nephew got sold a 2011 or 2012 CR34 w/ 65# limbs on them. His dad didn't know much about it so they brought it to me to help him set it up. I'm not completely up to date on things here, but the #3 fuel cams were set at 28" and were way too long for him. Plus, had to help him draw the bow...

    Overthinking Bullet construction on Elk

Probably good advice. I only get to do this every few years, so I enjoy the buildup ,and I want to give it my best effort. thanks for the insight, but ultimately, hole in 2 lungs and they don't live long.

    2024 AK Moose Prep

Depends what you do. if you just have them debone it, it may not be that expensive. However, my buddy lives in a big city and doesn't have a good wild game butcher in the lower 48. He got sausages made, and a bunch of processed stuff, I think he was up around $2000. I brought everything home...

I miss moose camp. I'd love to go back this year. How many hunts of a lifetime is someone legally allowed to have?

    Overthinking Bullet construction on Elk

You have a good point. I killed a mule deer with a 150 TTSX from my 7rm. First shot anchored him, but it was a little forward and 15 minutes later when I got up to him, he blinked at me. Had to finish him. Shot wasn't far in front of where I wanted to be, but didn't get the expansion you would...

    Overthinking Bullet construction on Elk

it performed fine. I just wanted to try something different. I've shot a couple animals with the TTSX and felt like I left a lot of energy in the dirt behind the animal after it passed thru. PLUS it's a slow time of year for hunting and chasing things on the reloading bench is fun.

Loaded some 200 grain ELD-X bullets and went to the range saturday. Was really satisfying to get in under an MOA and call it a day. the heavier bullets shot much better

    Overthinking Bullet construction on Elk

5 shot groups, and admittedly, I struggle with letting the barrel cool down like I should. I know I'm over thinking things, my buddy is going with us and wants to kill one with a 130 gr copper out of his 270. If that gets it done, I'm sure my 178s will too.

    Overthinking Bullet construction on Elk

I love when people Get the reference. I tend to agree but don’t know if I’m settling when I shouldn’t be. I’m he partitions or copper would be my preference for a bullet, but didn’t know if I’m settling too soon.
