    WTS Kifaru Slick Bag 20*

Bought this here on Rokslide a couple years ago and put 10 nights in it myself. I don't care for the center zip. Has been stored in a large duffle in the closet. The guy I bought it from said this in his ad: "For sale is a used Kifaru Slickbag 20 F version (standard length/width). Coyote...

    RokStok

I have followed this thread from the beginning and have tried to sort fact from foolishness but I still have a few questions. What is the angle of the butt in relation tho the bore line? Has the grip been changed to favor right or is it still ambidextrous like the original Hunter VG? Will the...

    '94 F250 460 coolant leak

All good advice above. I just did this one year ago on my '96 7.5L and there's a few things to watch for. Pay extra attention to the crank seal alignment when reassembling, read up on the best way. Keep track of where each bolt in the water pump came from, there's like 7 different lengths and...

125gr Nosler BT .308 deer bullet

I used that bullet for several years on deer and antelope. MV was over 3,000fps from a 24" barrel .308 and they were very accurate and exceptionally destructive. They often didn't exit on rib shots and shoulder hits were a meat hunters nightmare.

    California deer

The best place to see deer in CA is in subdivisions, they are safer there from the over-abundance of lions. I have 200 acres of rolling hills with oak and brush here and don't see deer regularly anymore. I walk the dusty trails and roads and there's a few deer tracks but mostly bear and lion...

Twist rate and penetration: also factors effecting penetration and wound channels in general

Julian Hatcher discussed his experiments with twist rates in Hatchers Notebook. IIRC he determined the 270 Win and 220 Swift would penetrate thicker steel than M2 AP black tip due to higher RPM and it was held as a secret until after WWII. How this relates to flesh and bone I'm not sure. I no...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

;) May be if there was a reason to design a bullet specifically for damage to flesh and bone, it would only need a cannelure to be the perfect......oh wait!

What is "the" 308 win load?

If you want to replicate the devastation of the 223/77 TMK try the 125gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip over a max load of AA 2460.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

That's the best thing about using a bolt action rifle, it doesn't slow you down like a semi-auto. You don't have to wait for it to cycle and can shoot as fast as you want. ;) Congrats on the moose.
