    I’m no expert, but I do have 20+ years of public land bow hunting elk experience. I’ve killed elk 1/4 mile off a main road and had to go 4-6 miles in to kill them.     Honestly, at first I was very frustrated and pissed off. The more time that passed I cooled off and tried to look at why they wrote the citation. I’m just glad that the system actually worked and I was able to plead my case. Thanks again for the support.

    Judge dropped the charge. No fines, no points on my record. Listened to reason and realized honest mistake. Took my son, was good for him to watch the Judicial system.

    Just had my second shoulder surgery since December. So I’ll be lucky to be shooting a bow this year, but I’m still putting in the miles. Can’t carry weight yet but getting the cardio anyway. Gotta get ready to be the full time “caller”! Might be nice to just sit back and watch for once.

    I have court Tuesday, so we’ll see what the Judge says. If they tell me to pay the fine, then that’s life. I won’t plead guilty to something I didn’t do. Plenty of opinions both ways on here. Everyone is entitled to one. Thanks for the support and the pointers.

    Didn’t hunt back by the bait. Only road in and out. Guess we could have walked 2 miles around through a briar thicket, but when you’re not doing anything wrong you don’t think about ways to go around stuff.

    I’m going to fight it simply because I won’t plead guilty to something I didn’t do. It may cost me more money. If the judge rules against me then so be it. I’ll pay the fine and go on.     That’s basically what it says here, but I don’t see where we showed “intent”. Warden told me there’s no set distance from bait either which sounds absurd. How can I be guilty of something I didn’t even know we did. Just crazy.
