I have a Savage 110 chambered in .270 I was just wondering if this is a bad caliber to take to CO for Elk? What ammo do you all use and what is your experience with this caliber in regard to shot placement?
I'm going solo in 2020. Just trying to figure things out now. Not looking for handouts at all either.....the challenge is what draws me to the west. Just want to ensure I am not setting myself up for failure with the area from the start.
I live in Wisconsin. Only been to Colorado once for my sister in law's wedding and was in awe of the mountains. Only other mountains I have seen were Afghanistan's, definitely not like CO lol.
Just wondering if any of you guys have experience in this unit for archery season? I have a buddy who has had success the 2nd rifle, but sometimes a few weeks can make a world of difference in animal activity and hunting pressure. Thanks in advance for your input.
Lucky, I live in SE Wisconsin. I relocated from Texas myself. Picked 551 as the success rate is roughly 23% for archery with a 100% draw rate with 0 points. What do you mean by lots of hurt?
Some zones you can draw without any points. I am going solo in 2020 zone 551. Let me know if you are still planning on making the journey. I don't have anyone to go with either.
I will be going solo to CO next year. Taking my time now to ensure I have my S!@# together before I go. Glad to see I'm not the only one doing this solo.
New to the forum and looking forward to contributing any way I can. Want to challenge myself and hunt out west. Starting in Colorado fall of 2020. Probably going solo as I do not have anyone willing to make the journey with me. Should be all the challenge I can handle....
