You considered H1000? I have had great luck with it in all magnums. Low SD and I have not had it be temp sensitive. It is also relatively easy to find right now.
I use a Pig Saddle with a Field Optics CF tripod and it is solid. The tripod is dirt cheap, light, and can support 25+ lbs. The Pig Saddle is beefy but not super light. There is another lighter option in the Hog Saddle but it is more than double the price.
You can check out the Berger website and enter your rifle/bullet info and get a great idea if it is stable or not.

The ELD-X is a great bullet if your rifle likes it. I shoot the same round and performance on game has been impressive.
I have had five pairs and they all leak after awhile. They are super comfy and I use them for archery elk so the waterproof factor isn’t a giant deal to me. I also get them on a discount which helps but I don’t expect them to be waterproof for more than a season of scouting and hunting use.
Anyone had any experience with the SR6? I have a new bow in mind and I’m looking at that one, along with the Obsession FX6. Any input would be appreciated as would any other recommendations for a “speed” bow with IBO 350+.
Just a hair over 10lbs with scope. Heavy, but relatively manageable for me personally. The can adds another 12oz or so to that and is horrible to carry with a sling. Very top heavy. I’ll probably just ditch it for rifle season next year.

I own an older 0 degree FF bag and it is incredibly warm. They used to offer a lot of custom options but I think they just have a lot of bags to choose from now. You can get a bag overfilled to add more warmth if you desire. I'm not sure of the lead time on that. I have also owned a couple of...
I suggest the Remington 5R Tactical in 300 WM to everyone. I have had great luck with mine, albeit after replacing the trigger. I shoot it with a can but with a MBM muzzle break, it is a kitten. 1/2 MOA is doable with handloads. And it is a Remington 700 so if you ever wanted to upgrade anything...
I have had great luck with the Remington 700 5R in 300 WM. They can be found for well under $1K and mine have shot lights out. Pre threaded which is a bonus. And there is no ammo shortage or the PITA of trying to hunt down proprietary brass.
I did a DIY moose/caribou hunt out of Dillingham awhile back. I’m not sure that area is on your list of potential moose areas but we used Bay Air and had a great experience. I’d be happy to share details if that area is near where you are planning to hunt.
Fellow FNG here from ID. If I had one piece of advice on a moose hunt, it is quiet clothing. Their hearing is otherworldly and loud clothing will send them the other way in a hurry. Can’t go wrong with good, old fashioned wool.
I’ve have a few swamp donkeys under my belt and would be happy to...
Long time lurker here and decided to it was time to step out from the shadows. Love the site and the knowledge within. I’m a bow hunter and rifle hunter. Mostly elk and deer in OR and ID.
Also been bitten by the long range bug and working my way out to a mile. Lots of work to go but getting...
